Job Description: ML Operations Lead

Location: Hinjewadi Phase 1, Pune | Experience: 8+ Years | Grade: Senior Manager (E1)

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced ML Operations Lead to manage and operate traditional Machine Learning (ML) models in production. The role involves leading a team of two ML Operations Engineers and ensuring models remain accurate, reliable, and efficient through continuous monitoring, retraining, validation, and deployment management.
The candidate should have strong hands-on experience in MLOps, production ML model management, drift monitoring, and model lifecycle management, along with team leadership and stakeholder management skills.

Note: This role focuses on traditional Machine Learning models such as churn prediction, fraud detection, revenue assurance, and network forecasting. It does not focus on LLMs or Generative AI.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of two ML Operations Engineers.
Manage the deployment, monitoring, retraining, and maintenance of ML models in production.
Monitor data drift, feature drift, concept drift, and model performance degradation.
Establish model validation processes using backtesting and champion-challenger approaches.
Manage model versioning, registries, lineage, auditability, and rollback procedures.
Ensure model changes requested by business teams are delivered within agreed timelines.
Monitor model performance, accuracy, bias, and fairness.
Collaborate with Data Engineering teams to resolve data-quality and data-freshness issues.




Coordinate with Singapore-based leadership on incidents, deployments, operational standards, and change management.
Track and report model health, deployment success, and operational KPIs.

Required Skills

Strong experience in Machine Learning Operations (MLOps) and production ML systems.
Hands-on experience with ML model deployment, monitoring, retraining, and validation.
Knowledge of model drift detection and performance monitoring.
Experience with ML CI/CD pipelines, model registries, and model lineage.
Knowledge of backtesting, champion-challenger testing, AUC, and precision-recall metrics.
Understanding of bias and fairness monitoring.
Experience with cloud-based ML platforms.
Solid team leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience & Qualifications
8+ years of experience in ML, MLOps, or Data Science Engineering.
Prior experience leading a technical team.
Proven experience operating traditional ML models in production.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.

Preferred: Experience in telecom environments and customer churn prediction models.
Preferred: Experience coordinating with international teams and business stakeholders.

Working Hours: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM IST
