The Opportunity:

As a C&P; Hardware Design Engineer for HVDC Service at Hitachi, Ltd., you will be responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of control and protection hardware systems for High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) transmission projects. This role involves ensuring the reliability, performance, and safety of critical electrical infrastructure.

How you’ll make an impact:

* Design, develop, and test control and protection hardware components and systems for HVDC converters, including PCBs, power supplies, I/O modules, and communication interfaces.
* Prepare detailed technical specifications, block diagrams, schematics, BOMs, and design documentation in accordance with industry standards and internal procedures.
* Conduct hardware simulations, analyses, and verification tests to ensure functionality,



performance, and compliance with project requirements.
* Collaborate with software engineers, system engineers, and project managers to integrate hardware and software components into a complete HVDC control system.
* Support factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), and commissioning activities for HVDC projects.
* Troubleshoot and resolve hardware-related issues during design, testing, and operational phases.
* Participate in design reviews and provide technical expertise to improve existing designs and develop cutting-edge solutions.
* Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and standards in HVDC control and protection.
* Ensure adherence to safety regulations and quality management systems throughout the design and development lifecycle.
