1. Role Purpose
TVS Electronics is developing next-generation high-speed thermal receipt and label printers with in-house
system integration, firmware and product engineering capabilities.
We are looking for a Senior Embedded Firmware & Model-Based Control Engineer who combines solid
hands-on Embedded C/C++ and RTOS expertise with system engineering, control engineering and
MATLAB/Simulink capabilities.
The engineer will develop production firmware and system-level control functions for the thermal printer,
working closely with the thermal print mechanism, printhead, motors, sensors, electronics and
mechanical systems.
The role requires the ability to translate physical mechanism behaviour into robust embedded software
and control algorithms and to use MATLAB/Simulink for modelling, simulation, calibration and control
development.
2. Key Responsibilities
Embedded Firmware Development




• Design and develop production-grade Embedded C/C++ firmware for thermal printers.
• Develop printer state machines, sequencing, fault handling and recovery mechanisms.
• Implement ESC/POS and printer command protocols, including text, barcode and image
• processing.
• Develop print-job management, buƯ er management and high-speed image/data handling.
• Develop line-driver software coordinating thermal printhead strobing, paper-feed motor and print
• timing.
• Develop firmware for normal, high-speed, bold, image and cutter operating modes.
• Develop and maintain firmware architecture, drivers and hardware interfaces.
• Model-Based Development & Control
• Develop system and control models using MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow.
• Model printer mechanism behaviour and develop control strategies before implementation on
• the target processor.
