Key Responsibilities
• Assess and manage speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in individuals with neurological conditions.




• Provide individualized assessment and rehabilitation for patients across acute care, bedside, and rehabilitation settings.
• Manage neurogenic dysphagia, including patients with tracheostomies and complex swallowing needs.
• Assess and treat speech-language disorders, including aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia of speech, and cognitive-communication impairments.
• Contribute to rehabilitation planning for patients with stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, disorders of consciousness, Parkinson’s disease, and other neurological conditions.
• Collaborate with neurologists, neurosurgeons, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and other health professionals to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.
• Educate patients and caregivers, monitor clinical outcomes, and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
• Participate in clinical teaching, professional development, quality improvement, and research activities as applicable.
