Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer – BIM with strong expertise in electrical building services design, BIM modelling, and multidisciplinary coordination. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Autodesk Revit MEP, Navisworks, and AutoCAD, along with knowledge of BIM standards, clash detection, and electrical installation drawings.

The role involves developing coordinated, accurate, and construction-ready electrical BIM models, supporting prefabrication, resolving design conflicts, and ensuring compliance with applicable electrical standards and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain electrical BIM models using Autodesk Revit MEP.
- Create and manage electrical Revit families, parameters, and content libraries.
- Perform clash detection and multidisciplinary model coordination using Navisworks Manage.
- Prepare electrical shop drawings, installation drawings, cable tray/conduit routing, openings, sleeves, and prefabrication details.
- Coordinate electrical models with architectural, structural, and mechanical disciplines.
- Manage BIM models, revisions, versions, and coordination issues using Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), BIM 360, or other Common Data Workplace (CDE) platforms.
- Follow BIM Execution Plans (BEP), BIM protocols, ISO 19650 principles, and applicable BIM information requirements.
- Ensure electrical designs and deliverables comply with relevant standards, particularly NEN 1010, and consider NEN 3140 where applicable.




- Identify design conflicts and technical risks early and recommend practical solutions.
- Support prefabrication, modularisation, installation sequencing, and site execution.
- Collaborate with electrical design engineers, project managers, work preparers, and site teams to improve constructability and delivery quality.

Required Skills and Qualifications

- 7+ years of experience in electrical engineering design and BIM delivery for utility or commercial building projects.
- Strong hands-on expertise in Autodesk Revit MEP, Navisworks Manage, and AutoCAD.
- Experience in electrical building services installations and construction-ready BIM modelling.
- Good knowledge of BIM methodologies, BIM protocols, and BIM Execution Plans (BEP).
- Experience with clash detection, model coordination, and issue resolution.
- Practical experience in Revit family creation, adaptation, parameter management, and library maintenance.
- Experience preparing shop drawings, installation drawings, cable containment routing, and prefabrication details.
- Knowledge of ISO 19650 principles and BIM Basis ILS requirements.
- Experience using Common Data Environment (CDE) platforms such as Autodesk Construction Cloud or BIM 360.
- Knowledge of electrical installation standards, particularly NEN 1010.

Preferred Skills

- Familiarity with NEN 3140 and relevant European electrical standards (EN).
- Experience with Planfred or other BIM collaboration platforms.
- Experience in prefabrication, modularisation, and industrialised installation methods.
- Strong communication, coordination, problem-solving, and prioritisation skills.
