Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable DP Global Politics Teacher to join our IB Diploma Programme faculty. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of political systems, international relations, and contemporary global issues, combined with the ability to foster critical thinking, empathy, and active citizenship in students. This role involves guiding students through complex political concepts and real-world case studies while nurturing an appreciation for multiple perspectives and ethical decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the IB Diploma Programme Global Politics curriculum.
- Facilitate an inquiry-based learning environment that encourages debate, reflection, and critical analysis of global political issues.
- Guide students in exploring the four core units - Power, Sovereignty and International Relations; Human Rights; Development; and Peace and Conflict - using authentic and diverse case studies.
- Mentor students in completing their Internal Assessments (Engagement Activities) and Extended Essays related to global political themes.
- Encourage students to engage with local and global political contexts through simulations, model conferences, and community-based projects.
- Assess student learning through formative and summative evaluations in accordance with IB assessment criteria.
- Integrate digital tools, media resources,



and current affairs to make lessons dynamic and relevant.
- Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and cross-subject learning experiences.
- Participate in IB training workshops, curriculum planning sessions, and professional development programs.
- Contribute to school initiatives that promote civic engagement, intercultural understanding, and global-mindedness.

Qualifications

- Master's or Bachelor's degree in Political Science, International Relations, Sociology, or a related field.
- Teaching certification (B.Ed.) or IB Educator qualification preferred.
- 2-4 years of teaching experience, preferably in IB or international curricula.

- Strong understanding of global political systems, human rights frameworks, and international relations theories.
- Excellent skills in research, communication, debate facilitation, and critical analysis.
- Proficiency in integrating technology, current events, and media literacy into teaching practices.

Work Time

7:40 AM to 3:45 PM (Monday to Saturday)
