Location: Cyprus or India preferred; open to remote candidates globally
Employment: Full time

About the Role

DeltaSoft Solutions provides enterprise PostgreSQL and open-source database support to banks across the Middle East.

We are looking for a highly skilled, hands-on PostgreSQL engineer to work alongside our lead engineer, independently managing production databases, high-availability clusters, and associated infrastructure.

Technical Requirements

- PostgreSQL: Deep DBA expertise in performance tuning, query optimisation, replication, WAL, vacuum, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- High Availability: Hands-on experience with Patroni, etcd, HAProxy, PgBouncer, failover, and cluster recovery.
- Backup & Recovery: pgBackRest/Barman, PITR, and disaster recovery.
- Infrastructure: Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu), Kubernetes/OpenShift, Docker/Podman, networking, and storage.
- Automation & Monitoring: Bash/Python, Ansible/Terraform, Prometheus/Grafana.
- Cloud: Azure or AWS experience.

Responsibilities

- Independently resolve complex PostgreSQL production incidents and performance issues.
- Deploy and maintain PostgreSQL HA clusters, backups, upgrades, and migrations.
- Manage associated Linux, Kubernetes, and infrastructure components.
- Handle customer technical escalations and production support.

Candidate Profile

- 5–7 years of relevant experience, including at least 3–4 years of hands-on PostgreSQL DBA work in production.
- Proven experience implementing and troubleshooting Patroni-based HA clusters.
- Strong PostgreSQL internals knowledge and independent problem-solving ability.
- Comfortable working directly with enterprise customers.

Important: This is a PostgreSQL-first engineering role, not a general DevOps position. We are looking for genuine PostgreSQL specialists with strong supporting infrastructure skills.
