Job Summary

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced innovation leader to establish and strengthen the university's innovation ecosystem. The Director Innovation will drive healthcare innovation, interdisciplinary research, entrepreneurship, incubation, intellectual property development, technology transfer, and collaboration with industry and research organisations.

Role & responsibilities

- Develop and implement the university's innovation strategy and annual action plan.
- Establish and manage innovation centres, incubation facilities, entrepreneurship programmes, and interdisciplinary innovation initiatives.
- Promote innovation in medicine, healthcare delivery, medical devices, diagnostics, digital health, biotechnology, and related fields.
- Facilitate collaboration among faculty, students, researchers, hospitals, startups, industry partners, and funding agencies.
- Identify opportunities for research commercialisation, technology transfer, patents, licensing, and intellectual property protection.
- Support faculty and student startups, proof-of-concept development, prototype creation, and healthcare innovation challenges.
- Identify and coordinate applications for research grants, innovation funding, incubator support, and government schemes.
- Build partnerships with industry, research institutions, investors, and innovation networks.
- Monitor innovation projects, patents, funded initiatives, startup outcomes,



and other measurable performance indicators.
- Ensure compliance with institutional research, intellectual property, ethics, and funding policies.

Preferred candidate profile

- Master's Degree in Engineering, Technology, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences, Healthcare Management, Management, or another relevant discipline.
- Ph.D. in a relevant technical, scientific, medical, or interdisciplinary field is strongly preferred.
- Additional qualifications or training in innovation management, entrepreneurship, intellectual property, or technology transfer will be an advantage.

Experience Requirements

- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in innovation management, research commercialisation, technology transfer, incubation, entrepreneurship, R&D;, or institutional innovation leadership.
- Proven experience in managing innovation programmes, research partnerships, grants, patents, startups, or industry-funded projects.
- Experience in healthcare, medical technology, life sciences, biomedical research, or a medical university setting is highly preferred.
- Demonstrable outcomes in innovation development, institutional partnerships, or commercialisation will be an advantage.
