Cybersecurity Expert

Key Responsibilities

1. Security Monitoring & Threat Detection

- Monitor IT systems, networks, and infrastructure to identify security threats and suspicious activities.
- Analyse security logs and alerts to detect, investigate, and respond to potential cyber threats.
- Implement and maintain security monitoring systems and network security controls.
- Identify emerging threats and recommend preventive measures.

2. Vulnerability Assessment & Risk Management

- Conduct vulnerability assessments across systems, applications, and networks.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate cybersecurity risks.
- Recommend and coordinate remediation activities to address security vulnerabilities.
- Ensure appropriate security configurations and access controls are maintained.

3. Incident Response & Investigation

- Investigate security incidents and perform root-cause analysis.
- Coordinate incident response activities and implement corrective measures.
- Document incidents, findings, and remediation actions.
- Support recovery efforts and recommend measures to prevent recurring incidents.

4. Network & Information Security

- Implement and maintain firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and other network security controls.
- Protect sensitive information through appropriate security measures.
- Develop, implement, and maintain cybersecurity policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Collaborate with IT teams to improve infrastructure and application security.

5. Compliance, Audits & Reporting

- Support security audits,



risk assessments, and compliance-related activities.
- Ensure adherence to applicable information security standards and internal policies.
- Prepare security assessment reports, incident reports, and technical documentation.
- Stay updated on emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and security technologies.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, Information Security, or a related field.
- Minimum 56 years of relevant experience in cybersecurity operations, network security, threat detection, and vulnerability assessment.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and information security practices.
- Hands-on experience in vulnerability assessment, incident response, and risk management.
- Knowledge of firewalls, IDS/IPS, network security controls, and security monitoring tools.
- Familiarity with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) solutions.
- Knowledge of security policies, controls, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Positive communication, documentation, and reporting skills.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with SIEM tools such as Splunk, IBM QRadar, or Microsoft Sentinel.
- Knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001 and NIST.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent.
- Experience in security audits, incident investigation, and vulnerability remediation.
- Ability to work collaboratively with IT teams and stakeholders.
