Your Role and Responsibilities As a Firmware Developer for IBM Z, you will design, develop, test, and deliver offerings using the latest technologies. You will work in a team-based, collaborative environment with peers both locally and across the global organization, applying agile methodologies throughout the entire development cycle.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

- Develop Firmware Components: Create and use design documentation, such as Functional Programming Specifications and high-level design documents, to implement identified components. Ensure that the implemented components are unit tested and ready to be integrated into the product.

- Collaborate with Designers: Work with designers to understand users and create a tangible experience through combined efforts.

- Debug and Test Code: Debug reported problems, design, develop, and unit test code fixes to provide solutions for identified defects.

- Deliver Solutions: Develop and support various projects, including hardware management console mobile apps, cryptographic processors, I/O adapters, and Secure Service Containers.

- Apply Agile Methodologies: Utilize agile methodologies throughout the development cycle, from design to real hardware integration testing.

Required Technical and Qualified Expertise

- Firmware Development Experience: Experience with designing, developing, testing, and delivering firmware components using the latest technologies, including creating and utilizing design documentation such as Functional Programming Specifications and high-level design documents.

- Agile Methodologies Application: Experience in applying agile methodologies throughout the entire development cycle,



from design to real hardware integration testing, in a team-based, collaborative environment.

- Component-Level Design: Experience with creating component-level design and architecture, ensuring that implemented components are unit tested and ready for integration into the product.

- Defect Resolution: Experience with debugging reported problems, designing, developing, and unit testing code fixes to provide solutions for identified defects.

- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working with designers to understand users and create a tangible experience through combined efforts, radically collaborating to achieve shared goals.

- Strong experience with C programming

- Strong experience in Shell/Python scripting language.

- Experience in Google test framework

- Git working knowledge

- Good analytical, problem-solving skills

- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

- Experience in CI/CD pipeline, Build tools, etc.
- Understanding of IBM Z I/O architecture
- Knowledge of PCIe and device driver development
