About Us

Manna Group is a Kerala-based manufacturer of reclaimed rubber, tread rubber and tyre products, with operations in India and the UAE. Our plants run heavy process equipment such as reclaim lines, mixers, hydraulic presses and thermic fluid heating systems. The maintenance team keeps these machines running safely and reliably.

Role Summary

We’re looking for a skilled Welder / Fabricator for our in-house maintenance team. You’ll handle breakdown repairs, preventive maintenance work, and current fabrication across the plant. That includes machine parts, structures, platforms, ducting, chutes, guards and piping supports.

Key Responsibilities

Welding and repair

- Carry out arc (SMAW), MIG/MAG and gas welding on mild steel, and TIG welding on stainless steel where needed
- Repair worn or broken machine parts, frames, rollers, hoppers, conveyors and chutes
- Do hard-facing and build-up welding on wear parts
- Respond quickly to breakdowns to keep production downtime low

Fabrication

- Fabricate structures, platforms, stairs, railings, trolleys, racks, machine guards, ducts and tanks from drawings or sketches
- Mark out, cut (gas/plasma cutting, grinder, cut-off machine), drill, bend and assemble components
- Fabricate and modify pipelines and supports for water, air, steam and thermic fluid lines (under supervision for pressure lines)
- Install and align fabricated items on site

Preventive maintenance and support

- Support fitters and electricians during PM schedules and machine overhauls
- Inspect welds, structures and supports for cracks, corrosion and wear, and report issues




- Help install new machinery and modify existing equipment

Safety and housekeeping

- Follow hot-work permit procedures and keep fire extinguishers and fire blankets ready during welding
- Always use the right PPE (welding helmet, gloves, apron, safety shoes, goggles)
- Take extra care near rubber stock, oils and thermic fluid lines, which are fire risks
- Keep welding machines, gas cylinders, cables and tools in good condition and stored safely
- Keep the workshop and work area clean

Records

- Record completed jobs, materials used and time spent in the maintenance log or CMMS app
- Report material and consumable needs (electrodes, wire, gas, plates) to the supervisor in advance

Qualifications and Skills

Required

- ITI / NCVT certificate in Welder, Fitter or Sheet Metal Worker trade
- 2+ years of welding and fabrication experience in a factory, plant or workshop
- Hands-on skill in arc welding and gas cutting; MIG experience preferred
- Able to read basic engineering drawings and take measurements (tape, vernier, square, level)
- Good knowledge of grinders, drilling machines, cutting tools and lifting tackle
- Understanding of welding safety and fire prevention

Preferred

- TIG welding experience on SS
- Pipe welding experience
- Experience in rubber, tyre, chemical or process industries
- Basic fitting knowledge (bearings, couplings, alignment)
- Welding certification (e.g. 3G/6G) is an added advantage

Personal qualities

- Works well independently and in a team
- Able to work at heights and in hot plant conditions
- Reliable and punctual, and willing to come in for urgent breakdowns
- Language: Malayalam required; basic Hindi or English helpful

Working Conditions
- Shift: [General shift / rotational shifts]. May be called in for emergency breakdowns
- Work happens in the workshop and on the plant floor, sometimes at heights and in confined spaces
