: Water Treatment Plant O&M; Technician

Role: Water Treatment Plant Operations & Maintenance Technician

Job purpose

Operate and maintain the water treatment and wastewater treatment systems at the site, ensuring reliable operation, treated-water quality, safe handling of chemicals, and compliance with applicable site and environmental requirements.

Key responsibilities

- Operate and monitor water treatment equipment, such as filtration, softening, RO, DM, and wastewater treatment systems, as applicable.
- Check operating parameters, including flow, pressure, pH, conductivity, and water quality; record readings in shift logs.
- Conduct routine inspection, cleaning, backwashing, regeneration, and preventive maintenance of equipment.
- Prepare and dose treatment chemicals safely, following approved procedures and safety data sheets.
- Collect samples and coordinate testing with the laboratory; report results outside specified limits.
- Identify equipment or process abnormalities, take corrective action within authorization, and escalate breakdowns promptly.
- Maintain housekeeping around the plant and ensure proper storage and handling of chemicals.
- Follow site EHS procedures,



permit-to-work requirements, PPE rules, and emergency response instructions.
- Maintain records for plant operation, chemical consumption, maintenance, and water quality.
- Coordinate with production, maintenance, and utility teams to support uninterrupted plant operations.

Qualifications and experience
- ITI, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental, or a related discipline.
- Experience operating or maintaining water treatment or wastewater treatment plants is preferred.
- Basic understanding of pumps, filters, dosing systems, valves, and water-quality parameters.
- Ability to maintain explicit operating records and follow standard procedures.
- Willingness to work shifts, if required.
