1. Executive Summary

We are looking for an experienced Lead Oracle Analytics, Python & Access Reporting Modernisation Architect to lead the end-to-end migration of a mission-critical Microsoft Access reporting platform to a modernized, enterprise-grade architecture.

In this role, you will analyze legacy MS Access applications connected to Oracle databases, re-architect complex business logic, and construct a scalable replacement using Oracle Analytics Server (OAS) , BI Publisher , Oracle SQL/PLSQL , and Python automation . You will serve as the single lead owner delivering this solution end-to-end.

2. Core Responsibilities A. Discovery & Architecture Assessment

- Audit and inventory legacy MS Access databases (.mdb/.accdb), linked Oracle tables, pass-through queries, forms, macros, and VBA modules.
- Document current-state reporting workflows, schedules, distribution rules, data refresh intervals, and manual interventions.
- Evaluate migration complexity to select the optimal target pattern: OAS-Only , Python-Only , Python + OAS , or a Python Web Portal .

B. Oracle Database Engineering & Tuning

- Convert complex Access SQL queries and embedded VBA logic into robust Oracle SQL, views, materialized views, and PL/SQL packages.
- Perform high-volume database performance tuning using AWR/ASH reports, execution plans, parallel processing, and TEMP/PGA management.




- Implement secure DB connection methods, service account configurations, least-privilege policies, and release controls.

C. OAS & BI Publisher Development

- Build interactive OAS dashboards, analyses, prompts, custom filters, and drill-down capabilities.
- Create BI Publisher data models, layouts (RTF/Excel/PDF/CSV), bursting definitions, and automated execution schedules.
- Migrate Access reports into governed OAS assets aligned with enterprise security models, roles, and folder structures.

D. Python Reporting & Workflow Automation

- Design Python jobs using pandas, oracledb/cx_Oracle, SQLAlchemy, openpyxl, XlsxWriter, and NumPy to automate data extraction, transformation, and output generation.
- Build audit logging, exception handling, automated retry mechanisms, and data reconciliation checks into all Python jobs.
- Integrate execution workflows with enterprise schedulers such as Control-M , AutoSys , or Windows Task Scheduler .

E. Testing, Deployment & Stakeholder Management

- Execute unit, regression, system, and parallel-run testing comparing legacy Access outputs with the modern platform.
- Prepare comprehensive cutover plans, rollback strategies, production runbooks, and operational documentation.
- Provide knowledge transfer to DBA, support, and business operations teams during post-implementation stabilization.

6. Reconciliation & Handover Package: Parallel-run audit evidence, production runbooks, cutover/rollback plans, and support training materials.
