About the Role

This role is for a Lead Data Scientist within the Tech & Digital Business Unit, specifically on the Engineering Factories team. Reporting to the Program Engineering Capability Head, this individual contributor position is based in Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, or Gurgaon. The role involves moderate/light travel and falls The primary purpose of this role is to transform raw data into valuable insights to drive organizational growth and competitiveness.

The Lead Data

Scientist will interpret and analyze data from multiple sources to devise innovative solutions and build AI models and applications to solve complex banking business problems.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead product development, focusing on Machine Learning Engineering tasks.
- Build, train, and deploy ML models for inferencing, creating surrounding APIs for cloud and on-premise access.
- Develop ML-based applications for the bank using various ML techniques.
- Build and deploy ML applications in the cloud, utilizing Natural Language Processing (NLP), Large Language Models (LLMs), and supervised learning.
- Understand the bank's data domain for Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) and Management Information (MI) reports, designing and developing ML applications.
- Leverage data to impact the economic ecosystem of the bank and the Indian financial space.

Educational Qualifications





- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a relevant field.
- A graduate degree in Data Science or another quantitative field is preferred.

Experience

- 11+ years of proven experience as a Data Scientist or Data Analyst.

Key Skills

- Strong knowledge of Python and cloud-based deployments.
- Expertise in Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA), Natural Language Processing (NLP), Topic Modeling, Named Entity Recognition (NER), Embedding models, and Semantic Search techniques.
- Working knowledge of Large Language Models (LLMs) via APIs (e.g., OpenAI) and deploying open-source LLMs (e.g., LLAMA2, FLAN T5).
- Proficiency in the LangChain framework and FastAPI of Python.
- Working experience with Cloud (preferably Azure); understanding of MLOps frameworks is a plus.
- Knowledge of Classification and Question Answering (Q&A;) networks using BERT.
- Solid knowledge of TensorFlow and PyTorch frameworks.
- Experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau) and data frameworks (e.g., Hadoop) is a plus.
- Understanding of machine learning and operations research.
- Analytical mindset, business acumen, and strong problem-solving ability.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
