Position Title: Team Leader, Fund Accounting

Location: Vikhroli, Mumbai

Reports to: Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced Team Leader – Fund Accounting to lead a team supporting Private Equity and Real Estate Fund clients. This role combines technical fund accounting expertise, people leadership, client management, operational excellence, and process improvement.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring high-quality service delivery, team development, stakeholder management, governance oversight, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Fund Accounting & Client Delivery

- Lead and review end-to-end accounting for Private Equity and Real Estate Funds.
- Review NAV calculations, investor allocations, capital calls, distributions, and financial reporting.
- Oversee investment, property, SPV, and fund-level accounting activities.
- Review carried interest, waterfall calculations, valuations, and investor reporting.
- Manage audits, reconciliations, and reporting deliverables.
- Ensure timely delivery of all client commitments and SLA targets.

Team Leadership & Governance

- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Fund Accounting professionals.
- Conduct performance discussions and support career development plans.
- Drive engagement, retention, succession planning, and cross-skilling initiatives.
- Build robust relationships with clients, onshore teams, and internal stakeholders.
- Support governance meetings and operational reporting.





Operational Excellence & Innovation

- Drive quality reviews, risk management, and process controls.
- Ensure SOPs, checklists, and documentation remain current.
- Lead automation, AI adoption, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in UAT, system enhancements, and business continuity activities.
- Promote a culture of accountability, innovation, and service excellence.

Compliance & Risk Management

- Ensure adherence to client procedures, internal policies, GDPR, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain strong operational controls and audit readiness.
- Proactively identify, escalate, and mitigate operational risks.

Education & Qualification:

- Qualified / Semi Qualified - CA / ACCA, CPA or CMA
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s or a related field

Experience:

- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Fund domain/industry
- Experience in Private Equity and/or Real Estate Fund Accounting
- Previous team leadership, supervisory, or mentoring experience preferred
- Experience within Fund Administration, Asset Management, Financial Services or Big 4 environments.
