Role Description This is a full time, on-site role based in Kochi for a Tamil Children’s Story Writer & Editor. The role involves conceptualizing and writing original children’s stories in Tamil that are age-appropriate, engaging, and culturally relevant.

Responsibilities include editing and refining manuscripts, ensuring clarity, tone consistency, and grammatical accuracy, and adapting stories for different formats such as print, digital, and audio. The writer and editor will collaborate with designers, illustrators, and project managers to align stories with visual themes and educational objectives,



and may participate in brainstorming sessions for new series or character development. The role also involves meeting project deadlines, incorporating feedback from stakeholders, and maintaining a high standard of creative and editorial quality.

Qualifications

- Strong creative writing and storytelling skills in Tamil, with the ability to craft engaging narratives for children.
- Proficiency in editing and proofreading Tamil content, with keen attention to grammar, style, and consistency.
- Ability to research child-focused themes, educational topics, and cultural references to create relevant and age-appropriate stories.
- Experience adapting written content for multiple formats (print, digital, audio) and collaborating with visual and design teams.
- Excellent time management, organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills and openness to feedback, with a collaborative approach to working in cross-functional teams.
- Prior experience in children’s literature, education content, or publishing is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Literature, Linguistics, Education, Journalism, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
