Location: Bengaluru

Experience: 3–4 years of relevant experience

Role Type: Full-time, individual contributor

About the Role

Lane is looking for a detail-oriented Supply Operations Manager to maintain an accurate, current, and buyer-ready inventory of cars available through marketplace listings, marketing leads, and other incoming sources. You will consolidate supply information, confirm vehicle availability with sellers, match available cars against buyer requirements, and coordinate timely inspections and photographs. Your goal will be to improve demand-to-supply match rates and ensure suitable cars are not lost because of delayed follow-ups, outdated information, or inspection coordination gaps.

This role manages and activates incoming supply. It does not carry cold sourcing, dealer acquisition, or vehicle procurement targets.

Key Responsibilities

Consolidate and maintain supply inventory

- Maintain a central inventory tracker in Excel or Google Sheets covering vehicle leads
- received from marketplaces, marketing campaigns, referrals, and other approved sources.
- Capture and validate seller contact details, vehicle specifications, asking price, location, availability, inspection status, and photographs.
- Identify duplicate listings and maintain a unique record for each vehicle.
- Update inventory status promptly, including available, inspection pending inspected, buyer-ready, on hold, sold, and withdrawn.

Maintain supply coverage against buyer demand

- Review incoming buyer requirements and demand trends with the CRM and sales teams.
- Organise supply by budget, make/model, transmission, fuel type, location, and other relevant buyer preferences.

- Identify suitable cars for active buyer requirements and share accurate shortlists within agreed timelines.
- Monitor gaps in high-demand segments and escalate additional supply requirements to the relevant teams.
- Maintain backup options wherever possible to reduce disruption when a seller withdraws or a vehicle becomes unavailable.

Confirm seller availability and readiness

- Speak with individual sellers in Kannada and English to confirm vehicle availability, asking price, intent to sell, and inspection availability.
- Reconfirm availability at defined intervals and before recommending vehicles to buyers.
- Record seller discussions, next actions, and follow-up dates.
- Flag changes in price, seller responsiveness, or availability that could affect a buyer match.

Coordinate inspections and buyer-ready information

- Prioritise inspections based on active buyer demand and supply gaps.
- Coordinate inspection appointments between sellers and inspection teams.
- Track assignment, scheduling, completion, and delays, and escalate overdue cases.
- Ensure completed inspection reports and required photographs are linked to the correct vehicle record.
- Check that each buyer-ready vehicle has the required photographs: front exterior, rear exterior, dashboard, interior, and side exterior.
- Share complete vehicle information with the CRM team within agreed timelines.

Own MIS reporting and operational follow-through

- Build and maintain dashboards covering inventory availability, demand coverage, match rates, inspection progress and pending actions.
- Track unmatched demand and record reasons such as budget mismatch, unavailable vehicle, incomplete inspection, or delayed follow-up.
- Highlight stale listings, overdue inspections, and suitable vehicles at risk of being lost.
- Maintain clear ownership and closure dates for pending actions across teams.

Required Experience and Skills

- 3–4 years of experience in supply operations, marketplace operations, listing management, inventory coordination, sales operations, or MIS roles.
- Experience in consumer technology, digital platforms, e-commerce, automotive, or another customer-facing consumer business.
- Hands-on proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, including lookups, pivot tables, conditional formatting, data validation, duplicate removal, and dashboards.
- Confidence in handling seller conversations and follow-ups in Kannada and English.
- Ability to manage multiple records, prioritise urgent requirements and coordinate across teams.
- Strong attention to detail, reporting discipline and ownership of pending tasks.

Preferred

- Experience managing listing or inventory data for a marketplace.
- Familiarity with used-car specifications and vehicle inspection workflows.
- Experience using CRM systems and maintaining operational trackers.

What Success Looks Like

- Buyer-facing teams can quickly access suitable cars with confirmed seller availability,
- completed inspections, and transparent photographs. Inventory records remain current, supply
- gaps are highlighted early, and promising matches progress without avoidable operational delays.
