The Role

As Store Manager, you own the complete commercial, operational, customer, people and control performance of one BKD store. This is a visible, hands-on leadership role. You will lead from the shop floor, set the standard for your team and step in personally when service, stock movement or peak-hour execution needs support.

What You Will Do

- Deliver daily, weekly and monthly sales targets while managing margin, footfall, basket size and controllable costs
- Execute promotions correctly and share local insights on demand, competition and products customers ask for
- Ensure prompt, respectful service, accurate pricing, short billing queues and reliable home delivery
- Personally handle significant customer complaints and fix the root cause
- Run disciplined store opening and closing, shift coverage, checklists and clean trading and storage areas
- Supervise goods receipt, GRN verification, replenishment, stock counts, returns and inter-store transfers
- Control stock-outs, shrinkage, expiry, damage and wastage, applying FIFO/FEFO




- Ensure every sale is billed through the approved system and review daily cash, UPI, card, discount and refund controls
- Lead and train the Team Leader(s), Store Keeper, Cashiers and Sales Associates through rosters, briefings, coaching and mentoring
- Apply one BKD standard to all employees and third-party brand promoters, and resolve conflicts fairly
- Maintain planogram and display standards, hygiene, food/fire safety, CCTV/security and asset care
- Submit accurate daily and weekly MIS reports and use POS and Excel data to drive improvements

Who You Are

- Graduate in any discipline (Commerce, Business Administration or Retail Management preferred; a postgraduate qualification is an advantage)
- 5–8 years of retail experience, including at least 2 years supervising a store/unit and frontline staff
- Grocery, supermarket, FMCG, convenience or value-retail background strongly preferred
- Hands-on knowledge of POS/billing, inventory and GRN processes, stock counts, cash reconciliation, shrinkage/expiry control and merchandising
- Proficient in MS Excel and MIS reporting, with basic retail mathematics
- Strong Hindi and functional English; able to communicate firmly and respectfully with customers, staff, vendors and management
- A leader who shows ownership, integrity, customer focus, composure and disciplined follow-through

Work Requirements

- Physically able to stay active on the shop floor, including extended standing and walking, bending, using store stairs and step ladders, and assisting with carton movement within safe-handling limits
- Available for rostered retail hours, weekends, holidays and festival/peak periods, subject to company policy and applicable law

How We Measure Success Sales and margin, stock accuracy and shrinkage, customer service and complaints, team training and discipline, and cash and compliance controls.
