Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Software Tester with experience in the Capital Markets or BFSI domain to join our team in Mumbai.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in manual and functional testing of financial applications, along with a good understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), defect management, SQL/database validation, and end-to-end testing.

Candidates with knowledge of Equity, Mutual Funds, SIP, IPO, Trading, Wealth Management, Clearing & Settlement, or Back Office operations will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Understand business requirements, functional specifications, and application workflows.
- Prepare test scenarios, test cases, and test data based on business requirements.
- Execute functional, regression, integration, System Integration Testing (SIT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Perform end-to-end testing of financial applications.
- Validate application data and backend transactions using SQL queries.
- Identify, document, track, and retest defects using JIRA, ALM, Quality Center (QC), or similar defect management tools.
- Collaborate with developers, Business Analysts (BAs), and business stakeholders to investigate and resolve defects.
- Perform requirement analysis and identify gaps in functional specifications.
- Maintain test documentation, test execution reports, defect logs, and other QA deliverables.
- Ensure application functionality, data accuracy,



and compliance with defined business requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

- 2 – 5 years of experience in software testing, preferably in the Capital Markets or BFSI domain.
- Robust understanding of manual testing and functional testing methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with test case preparation, test execution, defect reporting, and retesting.
- Good understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and defect life cycle.
- Basic to intermediate SQL knowledge for database validation.
- Experience with defect tracking tools such as JIRA, ALM, or Quality Center.
- Understanding of regression testing, integration testing, SIT, UAT, and end-to-end testing.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with technical teams, Business Analysts, and business users.

Preferred Capital Markets Domain Knowledge

Candidates with knowledge or experience in one or more of the following areas will be preferred:

Equity Markets / Mutual Funds and Systematic Investment Plans (SIP) / Initial Public Offerings (IPO) / Trading and Order Management / Wealth Management / Clearing and Settlement / Capital Markets Back Office Operations / Financial Transaction Processing and Reconciliation

Educational Qualifications

BE / B.Tech / MCA / MSc / MBA or an equivalent qualification.

Certifications

ISTQB, NCFM, or NISM certifications will be an added advantage.
