Our engineering teams build and run the platforms behind this scale: learner-facing web and mobile apps, enterprise learning products, assessment and career services, and the data and AI systems that power personalised learning.

Roles & Responsibilities

● Own test automation for web, API and mobile applications across one or more product lines, working closely with engineering and product to understand changes and prioritise testing.

● Design, build and maintain automation frameworks from scratch or restructure existing ones, using AI-assisted development tools to deliver in aggressive timelines without compromising maintainability.

● Write, enhance and execute automated functional, regression and acceptance suites, integrated into CI/CD pipelines with reliable reporting.

● Validate end-to-end flows across the front end, backend services and databases, including data setup, teardown and verification through SQL.

● Shift testing left: review requirements and designs for testability, and contribute to API contracts and test strategies before code lands.

● Triage, log and track defects by severity and priority, and drive them to closure with engineering, product and operations.

● Continuously evaluate new tools, including AI agents and MCP-based testing integrations,



and bring practical improvements to the team's workflow.

● Mentor junior QA engineers and contribute to automation standards and best practices across the team.

Skills Required

Must have

● Minimum 2 years of hands-on test automation experience, with 3-5 years overall in software engineering or QA.

● Hands-on experience automating Web, API and Mobile applications using Playwright, Selenium, Appium, Cypress, REST Assured or similar frameworks. Strong in at least two of the three layers.

● Demonstrated use of AI-assisted tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, ChatGPT or similar) to build or restructure automation frameworks, generate and refactor tests, and accelerate delivery. Be ready to walk us through a real example.

● Hands-on object-oriented programming in Java, or equivalent in TypeScript, Python or C#, with a solid grasp of design patterns used in test frameworks (Page Object, Builder, Factory).

● Good working knowledge of how modern front-end and backend applications are built: HTTP, REST, authentication, browser DevTools, microservices, and reading application logs.

● Comfortable with SQL and relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) for test data management and validation. Exposure to NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis) is a plus.

● Experience integrating automation into CI/CD (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) and using Git for version control.

● Strong grounding in QA methodologies, test design techniques and defect lifecycle management.

Positive to have

● Experience with contract testing, performance testing (k6, JMeter) or accessibility testing.

● Exposure to Docker, cloud environments (AWS) and observability tools.

● Experience with AI-native testing approaches: using LLMs to generate test data, self-healing locators, or agentic test execution via MCP.

● Prior experience in a product company at scale, ideally consumer-facing.
