About the role

We're looking for a sharp, creative and news-savvy social media professional who understands Indian politics, follows current affairs closely and knows how to make news interesting for Instagram.

We need someone who can go beyond what happened to explain why it matters, find compelling angles and create content that gives audiences a reason to stop scrolling, read and engage.

What you'll do

Write engaging headlines, captions, carousels, explainers and reel scripts for Instagram.

Manage day-to-day publishing, scheduling and content updates across Times Network's Instagram pages.

Turn complex news and political developments into straightforward, sharp and compelling stories.

Identify fresh angles, interesting perspectives and conversation-worthy narratives.

Understand editorial briefs and translate them into creative, Instagram-first content.

Cover events, breaking news and major political developments in real time.

Monitor audience engagement,



trends and content performance to improve storytelling.

Collaborate with design, video and editorial teams to deliver timely, impactful content.

6–7 years of experience in news writing, digital journalism or social media management within a news organisation.

Strong understanding of Indian politics, current affairs and the news ecosystem.

Hands-on experience managing Instagram pages, publishing content and understanding platform analytics.

Excellent writing skills, news judgement and an instinct for compelling storytelling.

Someone who genuinely understands Instagram, its audience, trends and content formats.

A curious, opinionated mind that brings fresh perspectives while maintaining journalistic accuracy.

Experience covering events and working in a fast-paced newsroom.

The ideal candidate: Someone who doesn't just follow the news but knows how to turn it into engaging Instagram content and get it in front of the audience.
