Role & responsibilities

- Independently manage day-to-day accounting operations at the road and highway construction project site.

- Record, verify, and maintain all financial transactions accurately using Tally ERP/Tally Prime.

- Monitor daily site expenses, petty cash, cash payments, and supporting vouchers to ensure proper financial control.

- Verify contractor bills, subcontractor bills, supplier invoices, and payment requests before processing.

- Maintain accurate records of material purchases, transportation charges, equipment rentals, diesel consumption, and other project-related expenses.

- Track vendor outstanding balances, payment schedules, advances, and recoveries to ensure timely settlement of accounts.

- Maintain cash books, bank books, ledgers, and perform regular bank and vendor reconciliations.

- Ensure proper documentation and accounting treatment of GST, TDS, and other applicable statutory deductions.

- Coordinate with site engineers, storekeepers, procurement teams, contractors, and the head office accounts department to verify expenses and supporting documents.

- Reconcile material-related bills, delivery challans, purchase orders, and invoices with supporting site records.

- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly site expense statements and submit accurate financial reports to management.

- Monitor project-related expenditure and highlight unusual expenses, discrepancies, duplicate bills, or unauthorized payments to the concerned authority.

- Maintain systematic records of invoices, payment vouchers, receipts, work orders, and other financial documents for audit purposes.

- Ensure every transaction is supported by proper authorization and valid documentation before entry or payment.

- Support month-end closing activities, ledger scrutiny,



outstanding payment reviews, and financial reporting.

- Maintain confidentiality of financial information and ensure accuracy, transparency, and accountability in all site accounting activities.

Preferred candidate profile

- B.Com or M.Com graduate with 5-10 years of relevant accounting experience.

- Must have practical working knowledge of Tally ERP or Tally Prime.

- Candidates with previous experience in construction, infrastructure, road, or highway projects are preferred.

- Must have hands-on experience in site accounting, daily expense entries, cash book maintenance, and voucher management.

- Should understand vendor bills, contractor bills, purchase entries, and payment processing.

- Basic knowledge of GST, TDS, bank reconciliation, and vendor ledger maintenance is required.

- Must be proficient in MS Excel and financial record management.

- Should be capable of independently managing day-to-day accounting activities at a construction project site.

- Must maintain accuracy, attention to detail, financial discipline, and proper supporting documentation.

- Should be willing to work physically at the assigned project site.

- Must have good coordination skills to work with site engineers, contractors, vendors, and the head office accounts team.

- Candidates who can join immediately or within a short notice period will be preferred.
