Job Summary

Within our SQL Server Database Administrator team at Kyndryl, you'll be a master of managing and administering the backbone of our technological infrastructure. You'll be the architect of the system, shaping the base definition, structure, and documentation to ensure the long-term success of our business operations.

Your expertise will be crucial in configuring, installing and maintaining database management systems, ensuring that our systems are always running at peak performance. You'll also be responsible for managing user access, implementing the highest standards of security to protect our valuable data from unauthorized access.

In addition, you'll be a disaster recovery guru, developing strong backup and recovery plans to ensure that our system is always protected in the event of a failure. Your technical acumen will be put to use, as you support end users and application developers in solving complex problems related to our database systems.

You'll be a strategic partner, working closely with various teams to coordinate systematic database project plans that align with our organizational goals. Responsibilities

- Shape the base definition, structure, and documentation of the database system to ensure the long-term success of business operations.
- Configure,



install and maintain database management systems, ensuring systems run at peak performance.
- Manage user access and implement the highest standards of security to protect data from unauthorized access.
- Develop strong backup and recovery plans to ensure the system is protected in the event of a failure.
- Support end users and application developers in solving complex problems related to database systems.
- Coordinate systematic database project plans with various teams and propose and implement enhancements that improve performance and reliability.

Requirements

- 15+ years of hands-on experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator (depending on role level).
- Proven expertise in database installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and migrations.
- Advanced knowledge of T-SQL, stored procedures, views, functions, and query optimization.
- Experience with backup, recovery, restoration, and disaster recovery planning.
- Hands-on experience with High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) technologies: Always On Availability Groups Failover Clustering Log Shipping Replication Database Mirroring.
- Strong database performance tuning and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience in monitoring database health, capacity planning, and resource utilization.
- Expertise in T-SQL scripting, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.

Qualifications

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2016/2019/2022.
- Experience in handing SQL related Patching and lifecycle management.
- Experience with backup and recovery strategies.
- Experience with automation using PowerShell, SQL Agent Jobs, and scripting tools.
