Job Summary:
We are seeking a hands-on Senior Manager – Enterprise Integration & Data Architecture with strong NetSuite integration expertise to design, develop, and maintain enterprise integrations, APIs, EDI, and data pipelines. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills and a solid understanding of distribution, inventory, order processing, and accounting workflows. This role focuses on hands-on implementation, troubleshooting, and long-term technical ownership rather than project management.
Responsibilities:
Enterprise integration architecture
- Design and maintain the company's enterprise integration architecture, including approved patterns for APIs, EDI, webhooks, SFTP, files, native connectors, events, and batch processing.
- Define source and target systems, authoritative data boundaries, field mappings, timing, sequencing, validation, error handling, retry, reconciliation, security, and support ownership for each interface.
- Avoid uncontrolled point-to-point connections, duplicated business logic, and integrations that create parallel systems of record.
- Maintain architecture diagrams, interface inventories, mapping specifications, decision records, and runbooks while determining which existing interfaces should be retained, redesigned, replaced, or retired.
NetSuite integration engineering
- Design, build, test, deploy, and support integrations between NetSuite and internal or external systems.
- Develop deep knowledge of the NetSuite record, transaction, permission, and posting models so interfaces create valid operational and accounting results.
- Work with applicable NetSuite capabilities such as REST web services, SuiteTalk, RESTlets, SuiteScript, SuiteQL, SuiteAnalytics Connect, web services, and token-based authentication.
- Use Oracle integration technologies where appropriate, establish reusable engineering patterns, and challenge partner-proposed designs before owning the deployed solution and support model.
Customer vendor and external ecosystem integration
- Support EDI and API connectivity for customers, broadline distributors, vendors, logistics providers, marketplaces, payment services, websites, and other business partners.
- Design mappings and workflows for relevant documents such as purchase orders, acknowledgments, advance ship notices, invoices, inventory updates, item data, pricing, and order status.
- Support vendor onboarding, customer enablement, item synchronization, pricing exchange, order ingestion, fulfillment status, and other digital transaction flows while keeping partner-specific rules documented and controlled.
- Build repeatable onboarding patterns that reduce the cost and time required to connect new customers, vendors, and acquisitions.
Data architecture ownership and governance
- Help define company's enterprise data architecture with NetSuite as the authoritative transactional platform for the processes it owns.
- Establish clear boundaries for transactional, master, analytical, historical, reference, and external application data.
- Partner with business and application owners to define authoritative sources, data ownership, approval rights, stewardship, quality rules, and lifecycle requirements.
- Design governed data pipelines, transformation logic, shared definitions, and reconciliations so critical item, pricing, costing, inventory, margin, customer, vendor, and financial logic remains transparent and auditable.
Legacy discovery migration and transition
- Inspect legacy applications, databases, scripts, interfaces, files, and automated jobs to identify embedded business rules and technical dependencies.
- Document why existing functionality exists before replacing it, separating requirements that must be preserved from obsolete workarounds and technical debt.
- Support extraction, transformation, mapping, cleansing, conversion, validation, and reconciliation with repeatable utilities and control totals that preserve financial, operational, and referential integrity.
- Plan retirement, archival, access, and support arrangements for legacy data and applications that will not move into the future environment.
Analytics data services and application enablement
- Support the architecture and ongoing operation of NetSuite Analytics Warehouse and related analytics capabilities where adopted.
- Define the appropriate roles of NetSuite native reporting, governed analytical platforms, Power BI, and other reporting tools so business logic is not recreated inconsistently.
- Design data models and pipelines that provide trusted reporting and reconcile to source transactions.
- Support approved extension platforms for internal tools, portals, and workflows, and enable automation or AI only through governed data, controlled interfaces, clear ownership, and appropriate human review.
Testing monitoring security and operational support
- Develop and execute unit, integration, end-to-end, performance, failure-mode, cutover, and reconciliation testing with documented acceptance criteria.
- Implement logging, automated alerts, transaction tracing, exception queues, retry mechanisms, dashboards, and escalation procedures so failures are visible and actionable.
- Perform hands-on production troubleshooting and root-cause analysis across systems, data, network, authentication, mapping, sequencing, and business-rule layers.
- Apply secure access and data protection while establishing standards for source control, code review, automated testing, workplace separation, deployment, versioning, rollback, documentation, and change control.
Long term architecture ownership
- Become a primary internal owner for enterprise integrations, data pipelines, interface standards, and supporting technical documentation.
- Work side by side with implementation-partner engineers during design and build activities rather than receiving knowledge only at the end of the program.
- Build internal support capability, reduce unnecessary dependence on external consultants, and prioritize technical debt and enhancements based on business value, reliability, control risk, total cost, and operational impact.
- Create scalable patterns that support growth, acquisition integration, customer and vendor enablement, analytics, automation, and future digital services
Qualifications:
- More than 7 years of enterprise application integration, software engineering, data engineering, or related technical experience.
- Meaningful hands-on experience integrating with NetSuite and working with its records, transactions, permissions, APIs, or scripting capabilities.
- Strong knowledge of REST and SOAP services, JSON, XML, SQL, SFTP, webhooks, authentication, and modern integration patterns.
- Experience designing, building, testing, deploying, monitoring, and supporting production integrations and data pipelines.
- Experience with data mapping, transformation, migration, reconciliation, master data, and data-quality controls.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause-analysis skills across applications, interfaces, data, security, and business processes.
- Experience with API security, token-based authentication, source control, code review, testing, deployment, environment management, and operational documentation.
- Ability to understand order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, inventory, fulfillment, and accounting impacts in addition to technical specifications.
- Ability to evaluate and challenge consultant or vendor recommendations and assume ownership of the resulting design.
- Strong written communication and willingness to remain hands-on throughout implementation and long-term operation of the environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), NetSuite Integration Platform, and other Oracle integration technologies.
- Experience with SuiteTalk, SuiteScript, RESTlets, SuiteQL, SuiteAnalytics Connect, or NetSuite Analytics Warehouse.
- Knowledge of EDI standards and third-party integration processes.
- Experience in food distribution, wholesale distribution, retail, logistics, or other transaction-intensive industries.
- Experience modernizing Microsoft Dynamics GP or custom legacy applications.
- Familiarity with Oracle APEX, Power BI, cloud data platforms, workflow automation, or document processing.
- Experience with multi-entity environments, acquisitions, and high-volume order and inventory transactions.
