Job scope/summary: To oversee resin development projects and lead Resin labs activities/productivity.

Job Requirements/Qualification/Experience:

At least a Ph.D degree in Polymer Science/Materials Science/Organic chemistry from the University of repute. Minimum 10 years of industrial R&D; experience (after Ph.D). OR, M.Sc degree with 15 years of industrial experience in Resin development field.

Key Accountabilities

- Lead general product development and process improvements.
- Direct and lead activity exploring new chemical pathways to develop new Ion exchange products as per the company strategy.
- Define procedures, develop plans and deliver Ion Exchange Resin (IEX) projects.
- Conduct competitive benchmarking product analyses and strategize product development.
- Direct raw material/FG evaluation tests and draw specifications.
- Direct product performance studies.
- Solve complex issues relating to ion exchange systems/applications.
- Train and monitor the performance of R&D; Scientists and Junior Chemists.
- Substantiate, review and communicate resin development outcome with internal and external stake holders.
- Coordinate with clients, marketing teams and production teams for technology transfers, field trials and technical troubleshooting.
- To prepare know-how dockets (KHDs), product bulletins, MSDS, product data sheets, SOPs, and internal technical notes and assist to General Manager-R&D.;




- To implement department ISO systems, laboratory safety and organizational sustainable targets/goals in resin labs.

Skills/ Competencies/ Hands on

- Should possess Product and application development of various types of ion exchange resins/materials like weak & solid acid resins, weak & strong base resins, polymeric adsorbents, catalyst resins, pharma grade resins, porous polymers etc. The application knowledge of these products in water treatment, process separations & purifications, advanced catalysis, chromatographic applications etc. is a prerequisite.
- Experience in development of new applications of IEX resins related to water treatment/wastewater treatment / separations and filtration processes is an added advantage.
- Should possess knowledge of polymer synthesis, properties and characterization of new polymers.
- Should have handled/managed team of R&D; scientists (at least 5-10 member team).
- Should have good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Communicate the outputs, conclusions and recommendations to the project stakeholders in order to provide a technical basis for strategic decisions.
- Experience as project leader for R&D; projects would be an advantage and should have the capability and mind-set in accelerating innovations pertaining to ion exchange resins.
- Ability to direct and coach the team of scientists and chemists to achieve their targets.
- Should have high degree of initiative and problem-solving skills, together with a positive, independent and self-managing attitude.
