Gurnani Family Office (Marken Capital) | Gurugram | In-office
Experience: 10+ years
About the Family Office
Marken Capital is the single-family office of the C.P. Gurnani family and operates as a sub-entity within the family operating business, Assago Group.
The family office manages capital across public markets, private companies and external managers,
alongside the family's wider financial and administrative affairs, including cross-border structures, group companies, real estate, trusts and succession planning.
The Role
This role anchors the service and compliance function of the family office — family-office operations, cross-border compliance, banking, tax, portfolio administration, entity governance and family engagement. This is not a conventional back-office role. It involves cross-border filings, entity administration, portfolio data integrity, and the working relationships with the banks, advisors and fund managers the office depends on.
The role requires someone who can take ownership without constant supervision, understand when to act independently and when to escalate, and bring structure to complex financial and administrative matters.
The successful candidate will become a key operating partner to the family and will provide functional oversight and coordination across the family-office operations team.
Family-office experience is preferred but not essential. Strong candidates from private banking service and compliance, Big Four compliance or tax, or similar multi-entity financial operations roles will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
Banking, Onboarding and Asset Consolidation
- Run KYC and re-KYC cycles across all entities and family members, in India and offshore.
- Manage digital onboarding onto new investment platforms and funds; map and consolidate assets across banking relationships.
- Handle fund drawdowns, capital calls and distributions — tracking notices, arranging payment and confirming credit.
Portfolio Data & Reporting
- Own the family office reporting platform — historical data migration,
position tagging and valuation reconciliation across custodians.
- Collect and reconcile monthly statements across roughly a dozen institutions — private banks, wealth platforms, PMS managers and AIFs.
- Prepare consolidated cross-asset portfolio reviews and strategic insight summaries for family decision-making.
Tax, Trust & Succession
- Coordinate ITR filings and entity financials with the family CA.
- Manage advance tax, trust administration and reporting cycles with the offshore trustee and administrator.
- Support domestic and overseas trust and will formation for succession planning.
- Assemble cost-basis and transaction history across two decades of holdings.
Stakeholder Management The role coordinates a wide external network — private bankers, custodians, wealth advisors, execution partners, Big Four advisors, the family CA, offshore corporate secretaries, fund managers and trustees. Keeping these parties aligned and to timetable is a substantial and continuous part of the work.
Cross-Border Transactions & Compliance
- Manage reporting and compliance for the family's offshore investments, drawing on a working knowledge of overseas investment regulations.
- Administer the Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS) across family members — tracking utilisation against annual limits per individual, preparing Form A2 and supporting declarations, coordinating remittances with the authorised dealer bank, and maintaining the audit trail for overseas investments and offshore accounts.
- Manage offshore entity compliance for the group structures — annual returns and AGMs, IRAS tax filings, statutory records, and coordination with the corporate secretary and tax agents.
- Liaise with the auditors and external advisors to ensure compliance with all applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Lead LLP formations and administration for recent investment vehicles, including ROC filings and related secretarial work.
Real Estate and Group Companies
- Oversee property documentation, mutation processes and developer payment schedules.
- Support group company matters including share certificates, board records and transaction
- documentation.
Family Engagement
- Serve as a trusted operational point of contact for family members on financial, administrative and investment-related matters.
- Communicate clearly and proactively, particularly where multiple advisors or institutions are involved.
- Maintain at least one in-person meeting or interaction each month with senior family members.
What We Are Looking For
Experience
- 10+ years in a single or multi-family office, private banking service and operations, Big Four compliance or tax, or a similar multi-entity financial operations role.
- Familiarity with property documentation and mutation processes, and with company secretarial records. This is an additional requirement not mandatory.
