Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and proactive Senior Engineer – Vendor Development to manage vendor development activities, ensure timely follow-up on orders, coordinate with internal departments, and develop reliable suppliers for machine tool components. The candidate should have a good understanding of engineering drawings, process sheets, ERP systems, cost management, and vendor negotiation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Vendor Development & Management

- Identify, evaluate, and develop new vendors for machine tool components, precision parts, and engineering materials.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing vendors and monitor their performance.
- Follow up with vendors regarding order status, production progress, quality issues, and delivery schedules.
- Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely supply of components as per production requirements.

2. Engineering Drawing & Process Sheet Understanding

- Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and specifications relevant to machine tools.
- Understand process sheets and manufacturing processes to assess vendor capabilities.
- Coordinate with Production, Quality, Design, and Purchase departments to clarify technical requirements.
- Ensure vendors understand component specifications and quality requirements.

3. Vendor Follow-Up & Order Tracking

- Regularly follow up on purchase orders, pending materials, and committed delivery dates.
- Maintain vendor-wise pending order reports and delivery schedules.
- Track delays, identify bottlenecks, and take corrective action with vendors.
- Prepare daily and weekly vendor follow-up reports.

4. ERP & Documentation

- Use ERP systems for purchase orders, vendor records, material status, delivery tracking, and cost-related data.
- Maintain accurate vendor quotations, purchase records, comparative statements, and related documentation.
- Update order status and delivery commitments in the ERP system.
- Generate reports for pending orders, purchase costs,



and vendor performance.

5. Cost Management & Cost Reduction

- Analyze vendor quotations and compare prices, specifications, and commercial terms.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through vendor development, negotiation, and alternate sourcing.
- Monitor component costs and support cost-reduction initiatives.
- Prepare cost comparison statements and assist in evaluating total procurement costs.

6. Negotiation & Communication

- Negotiate prices, delivery schedules, payment terms, and other commercial conditions with vendors.
- Communicate effectively with vendors and internal departments to resolve issues.
- Handle delivery escalations and work toward timely resolution.
- Maintain qualified relationships with suppliers while ensuring company requirements are met.

Required Skills
- Good understanding of engineering drawings and process sheets.
- Knowledge of machine tools, precision components, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience in vendor development, supplier coordination, and order follow-up.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems and MS Excel.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and coordination skills.
- Knowledge of cost analysis, quotation comparison, and cost reduction.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and follow-up skills.

- On-time vendor delivery performance.
- Reduction in component procurement costs.
- Number of new vendors developed and approved.
- Reduction in pending and overdue purchase orders.
- Vendor quality and rejection performance.
- Accuracy of ERP updates and vendor documentation.

Preferred Candidate Profile The ideal candidate should have 3–5 years of experience in vendor development or supplier management within the machine tools or engineering manufacturing industry. The candidate must be proactive, technically sound, commercially aware, and capable of managing vendor follow-ups independently. Pay: ₹20,700.00 - ₹44,000.00 per month
