Role Overview

We are looking for a skilled Senior Embedded Linux Engineer with 3+ years of hands-on experience in embedded Linux development, device drivers, board bring-up, and system-level debugging. The ideal candidate should have solid expertise in Linux-based embedded systems, kernel configuration, hardware-software integration, and performance optimization.

The candidate will work closely with hardware, firmware, and application engineering teams to develop, optimize, and maintain robust embedded Linux platforms for IoT and connected devices.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, customize, and maintain embedded Linux systems for product development.
- Perform Linux kernel configuration, compilation, customization, and debugging.
- Develop, integrate, and troubleshoot Linux device drivers and hardware interfaces.
- Handle board bring-up, bootloader configuration, and hardware-software integration.
- Work with interfaces and protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, USB, Ethernet, and GPIO.
- Develop and debug system-level applications and services using C/C++.
- Configure and optimize Linux root filesystems, system services, and boot processes.
- Debug kernel issues, memory problems, system crashes, and performance bottlenecks.
- Work with Yocto Project, Buildroot, or other embedded Linux build systems.
- Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and QA teams to ensure product reliability and performance.
- Maintain technical documentation, code reviews, and version control using Git.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in embedded Linux development.




- Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming and Linux system programming.
- Hands-on experience with Linux kernel, device drivers, and kernel debugging.
- Experience with bootloaders such as U-Boot and embedded boot processes.
- Working knowledge of Yocto Project and/or Buildroot.
- Experience with hardware interfaces such as UART, SPI, I2C, USB, GPIO, and Ethernet.
- Strong debugging skills using tools such as GDB, strace, dmesg, and system logs.
- Proficiency with Git and Linux command-line tools.
- Good problem-solving, analytical, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Good to Have
- Experience with ARM-based platforms and SoCs.
- Exposure to device trees, kernel modules, and custom board support packages (BSPs).
- Knowledge of networking protocols, TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or MQTT.
- Experience with IoT gateways, routers, industrial devices, or connected products.
- Familiarity with Linux security, OTA updates, and system performance optimization.
- Experience with automated testing and CI/CD workflows for embedded systems.
