Role Description The Senior Design Engineer is responsible for leading MEP design activities and ensuring that project deliverables meet technical, regulatory, and client requirements. This is a full-time, in office role based in Madurai, involving close coordination with project managers, junior engineers, and drafting teams. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and reviewing detailed mechanical, electrical, and plumbing designs, performing load calculations, sizing equipment, and developing schematics and layouts.

The role also involves checking drawings and technical documents, ensuring compliance with codes and standards, and providing design inputs during project meetings and site reviews.

The Senior Design

Engineer will mentor junior team members, collaborate with clients and external stakeholders,



and support value engineering and design optimization throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

- Strong MEP design expertise, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing system design for building and infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in relevant design and drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit or other BIM tools) and familiarity with calculation tools and modeling software.
- Solid understanding of applicable codes, standards, and guidelines related to HVAC, electrical distribution, fire protection, water supply, and drainage systems.
- Experience in project coordination, including managing design deliverables, interacting with clients and contractors, and resolving technical issues.
- Ability to review and validate drawings, specifications, and BOQs, with strong attention to detail and quality assurance.
- Effective communication, presentation, and documentation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated capability to mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff, supporting knowledge sharing and skill development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline; advanced qualifications or professional certifications are an advantage.
- Prior experience in an MEP consultancy environment, particularly in building services or infrastructure projects, is highly desirable.
- Willingness to work on-site in Madurai and occasionally travel to project locations for coordination and design review, as required.
