Nomadic Ideas LLP builds and runs consumer brands, including Notdefined and Milk Studios. We handle everything in-house, from design, sourcing and production to ecommerce, fulfilment and customer experience. As we grow, we're hiring an experienced accountant to own our books and give the founders a clear, dependable view of cash, margins, inventory and liabilities.

The Role

You'll own day-to-day accounting and the monthly finance cycle, reporting directly to the founders. We need someone who can trace any transaction from the order or invoice through the ledger, tax treatment, settlement and bank, and who sees problems through to resolution instead of passing them on. Our external CA and CS will continue to provide certification and specialist advice. You'll own the accuracy of everything they rely on.

What You'll Do

- Books and month-end close: Maintain complete, accurate books in Tally Prime. Run the month-end and year-end close with a supporting schedule for every material balance, and reconcile bank, card and loan accounts.
- Ecommerce reconciliation: Reconcile Shopify orders, returns, refunds and discounts with Razorpay, Shopflo, COD and other settlements, all the way to bank receipts. Account correctly for gateway fees, chargebacks and tax deducted or collected by platforms.
- Payables and receivables: Check vendor invoices against POs and goods received before payment, verify GST input credit and TDS, prepare payment runs, and keep vendor ledgers reconciled. Raise invoices and follow up on wholesale and B2B collections.
- Inventory and COGS: Work with production to account for fabric, trims, job work, work in progress and finished goods. Calculate landed cost and COGS, and investigate differences between physical stock, Shopify and the books.
- Tax and compliance: Own the compliance calendar. Prepare GST and TDS workings, reconcile with GSTR-2B, 26AS and AIS, manage PF, ESI and PT, and prepare audit and LLP filing schedules with our CA.




- Payroll accounting: Verify monthly payroll inputs, account for salaries and statutory deductions, and review employee expense claims.
- Cash and reporting: Keep a daily view of cash and a rolling weekly cash forecast. Deliver a monthly MIS pack covering P&L;, balance sheet, margins by brand and channel, budget vs actual, and clear explanations of variances.
- Controls: Make sure no payment, refund or vendor bank change goes through without proper documents and approval. Build straightforward SOPs and checklists so the work is repeatable.

What We're Looking For
- 4+ years of hands-on accounting, including experience in a similar role with independent responsibility for books, reconciliations, month-end close and audit schedules
- CA Inter, CMA Inter or M.Com preferred
- Strong working knowledge of GST, TDS, payroll accounting, inventory and COGS
- Hands-on experience with Tally Prime
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS)
- Experience in D2C, ecommerce, apparel or manufacturing with job work strongly preferred; familiarity with Shopify, Razorpay and COD reports is a big plus
- A solid understanding of cost of capital and working capital, and the ability to weigh funding, credit and investment options
- Experience making top-level financial decisions, with the judgement to recommend a clear course of action to the founders rather than just report the numbers
- A sharp eye for detail and the confidence to question incomplete or unusual transactions
