SDK Developer – Android & iOS
Company: Surepass Technologies Pvt. Ltd.
Experience: 0–3 years
Compensation: ₹6–7 LPA, depending on experience and demonstrated skills
Location: Netaji Subhash Place, Pitampura, New Delhi
About the role
At Surepass, we build mobile SDKs that banks, lenders, and fintech companies integrate into their applications for customer onboarding, KYC, and identity verification.
As an SDK Developer, you’ll build and maintain native Android and iOS SDKs using Kotlin and Swift. You’ll work on reusable components, identity-verification flows, library distribution, compatibility, testing, and production integrations.
This role is focused on SDK engineering rather than conventional application development. You’ll build libraries that must integrate reliably into third-party applications with different architectures, dependencies, and configurations.
What you’ll do
- Develop native SDKs: Build and maintain Android SDKs in Kotlin and iOS SDKs in Swift, with clean APIs and reusable components.
- Design public APIs: Define interfaces, configuration options, callbacks, error handling, and initialization behavior that are predictable and easy for client developers to use.
- Implement identity-verification flows: Integrate WebViews, JavaScript bridges, camera pipelines, runtime permissions, and third-party vendor libraries.
- Ensure host-app compatibility: Handle application and activity lifecycles, process death, threading, dependency conflicts, and platform-specific edge cases.
- Manage library packaging and distribution: Work with Android AARs, Gradle, R8/ProGuard rules, iOS frameworks and XCFrameworks, Maven repositories, CocoaPods, and Swift Package Manager.
- Maintain backward compatibility: Manage SDK versions, API changes, dependency updates, deprecations, and release notes without unnecessarily breaking existing integrations.
- Write reliable tests: Build unit and integration tests,
validate significant user flows on real devices, and maintain automated build and release checks.
- Own releases and CI/CD: Maintain build pipelines, versioning, release automation, and distribution processes using tools such as GitHub Actions.
- Support customer integrations: Investigate integration failures, debug production issues, communicate fixes, and provide sample applications and clear technical documentation.
- Maintain security and quality: Apply least-privilege permissions, review dependency risks, run static analysis and appropriate mobile security scans, and resolve findings before release.
What you’ll bring
Android development
- Strong Kotlin fundamentals and a solid understanding of Android application architecture.
- Experience with Android lifecycles, activities, services, permissions, threading, and process recreation.
- Hands-on experience with Gradle, Android library modules, AAR packaging, dependency management, and R8/ProGuard.
- Understanding of Android SDK compatibility, manifest merging, and integration issues in host applications.
- Ability to debug issues using Android Studio, Logcat, and relevant platform tools.
iOS development
- Strong Swift fundamentals and familiarity with UIKit or SwiftUI.
- Understanding of iOS application lifecycles, threading, permissions, and framework integration.
- Experience building and distributing iOS frameworks, including XCFrameworks.
- Familiarity with Swift Package Manager or CocoaPods and dependency management.
- Ability to debug integration issues using Xcode, device logs,
and platform debugging tools.
SDK engineering
- Experience building libraries, SDKs, plugins, or reusable components intended for integration by other developers.
- Understanding of public API design, semantic versioning, backward compatibility, and error-handling conventions.
- Familiarity with WebViews, JavaScript bridges, camera integration, and third-party vendor libraries.
- Experience writing unit tests, integration tests, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to investigate complex bugs that may occur only in specific host applications or device configurations.
- Strong technical writing skills for READMEs, integration guides, sample applications, and changelogs.
Nice to have
- Experience publishing Android libraries to Maven Central or private Maven repositories.
- Experience distributing iOS frameworks through Swift Package Manager or CocoaPods.
- Familiarity with Android security testing tools such as MobSF and Android Lint.
- Experience with device farms, BrowserStack, or automated mobile testing.
- Familiarity with JNI, the Android NDK, Rust, or native interop.
- Experience integrating KYC, identity verification, camera processing, or fintech SDKs.
- Familiarity with accessibility, performance profiling, and mobile application security best practices.
What success looks like
- Android and iOS SDKs remain stable and consistent across supported versions and device configurations.
- Client developers can integrate the SDKs using clear documentation and minimal assistance.
- Releases are tested, versioned, and distributed reliably.
- Public APIs remain predictable, with breaking changes managed deliberately.
- Integration issues are diagnosed systematically and resolved without regressions.
- The developer can independently maintain and evolve the existing SDK codebase after the initial handover.
