SAP TM AMS Consultant

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced SAP TM Consultant to support Application Management Services (AMS), including incident management, service requests, minor enhancements, and ongoing process support. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in SAP Transportation Management (SAP TM), a good understanding of transportation and logistics processes, and prior experience in an AMS or production support environment.

Experience integrating SAP TM with SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), Sales and Distribution (SD), Materials Management (MM), and Financial Accounting (FI) will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide functional support for SAP Transportation Management (SAP TM), ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
- Manage incidents, service requests, and minor enhancements within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Analyse and resolve SAP TM functional issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement appropriate solutions.
- Support transportation and logistics processes, including freight planning, freight order management, tendering, and freight settlement.
- Investigate production issues and provide timely resolutions to minimise business disruptions.
- Support configuration changes, minor enhancements, and continuous improvements to existing SAP TM processes.
- Work closely with technical teams to troubleshoot issues and support system integrations.
- Support integration between SAP TM and other SAP modules, including EWM, SD, MM, and FI.




- Prepare and maintain functional documentation, including incident records, issue analysis, and solution documentation.
- Participate in testing activities, including functional testing and regression testing, for enhancements and fixes.
- Communicate effectively with relevant stakeholders to understand requirements, provide updates, and ensure timely resolution of issues.

Requirements

- Strong hands-on experience in SAP Transportation Management (SAP TM).
- Prior experience in Application Management Services (AMS) or SAP production support environments.
- Good understanding of SAP TM functional processes and transportation and logistics operations.
- Practical experience in incident management, service request handling, and enhancement management.
- Knowledge of freight planning, freight order management, transportation tendering, and freight settlement.
- Understanding of integration between SAP TM and other SAP modules, particularly EWM, SD, MM, and FI.
- Experience in troubleshooting functional issues, performing root cause analysis, and implementing solutions.
- Familiarity with SAP configuration, testing, and functional documentation.
- Good communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a support workplace while meeting agreed SLAs.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience supporting SAP TM in a live production environment.
- Exposure to SAP S/4HANA Transportation Management.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives and process optimisation.
- Relevant SAP TM certifications would be an advantage.
