Job Summary

We are looking for a Quality Engineer with experience in pressure vessel and heat exchanger manufacturing. The candidate will be responsible for fabrication inspection, welding quality, material traceability, NDT coordination, and quality documentation in compliance with ASME Section VIII, Division 1 & 2, and applicable customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Carry out stage-wise quality inspections during the fabrication of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and related equipment.
- Review engineering drawings, material specifications, approved procedures, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and Quality Assurance Plans (QAPs).
- Perform incoming material inspection and verify Material Test Certificates (MTCs), material grades, identification, and traceability.
- Conduct fit-up, dimensional, visual welding, and final inspections as per approved drawings and applicable code requirements.
- Verify compliance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and welder performance qualification records.
- Ensure weld identification, material traceability, and inspection records are maintained throughout manufacturing.
- Coordinate NDT activities, including RT, UT, MT, and PT, as required by the approved inspection plan and applicable code.
- Monitor hydrostatic testing and other applicable pressure tests, ensuring approved procedures and safety requirements are followed.
- Coordinate inspections with Authorized Inspection Agency (AIA) representatives, third-party inspectors, and customer inspectors, as applicable.
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective action records, and manufacturing quality documentation.




- Support preparation and review of the final manufacturing data report and quality dossier, including applicable ASME documentation and the Manufacturer's Data Report (U-1 or applicable form).
- Ensure inspection hold points and witness points are followed and properly released.
- Identify quality issues, coordinate root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions to minimize rejection and rework.
- Support ASME U Stamp-related quality activities in accordance with the company's Quality Control System (QCS) and applicable code requirements.
- Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Procurement, and Project teams to resolve quality-related issues and ensure timely inspection clearance.

Required Qualifications and Experience

- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 3–6 years of relevant experience in pressure vessel, heat exchanger, or process equipment manufacturing.
- Practical experience in fabrication quality control and inspection of welded pressure equipment.
- Working knowledge of ASME Section VIII, Division 1, and applicable material and welding requirements.
- Knowledge of welding inspection, WPS/PQR, welder qualifications, NDT, dimensional inspection, and material traceability.
- Experience in quality documentation, ITP/QAP implementation, NCR handling, and final inspection.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working in an ASME U Stamp-certified manufacturing facility.
- NDT Level II certification in applicable methods.
- Welding inspection certification such as CSWIP or AWS-CWI.
- Familiarity with ASME material traceability, pressure testing, and Manufacturer's Data Report documentation.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
