Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Purchase Manager with 6+ years of experience in construction projects, with sound technical knowledge of steel works, civil construction materials, and procurement management. The candidate should have a B.Tech in Civil Engineering and proven expertise in vendor management, material sourcing, price negotiation, purchase planning, and timely material delivery to project sites.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage end-to-end procurement activities for construction and infrastructure projects.
- Procure construction materials, including structural steel, reinforcement steel (TMT bars), steel sections, plates, pipes, fabrication materials, cement, aggregates, and other project-related materials.
- Possess sound technical knowledge of steel works, including structural steel, fabrication, welding consumables, steel sections, and related materials.
- Review project drawings, BOQs, technical specifications, and material requirements to prepare procurement plans.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable vendors, suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors.
- Obtain quotations, compare prices, negotiate commercial terms, and finalize purchase orders to achieve cost savings.
- Ensure materials comply with approved technical specifications, quality standards, and project requirements.
- Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, design teams, stores, and finance departments for timely material procurement.
- Monitor purchase orders, delivery schedules, material availability, and supplier performance to avoid project delays.
- Maintain proper documentation of purchase orders, quotations, invoices, delivery challans, and vendor records.




- Monitor market rates for steel, construction materials, and other commodities to ensure competitive purchasing.
- Handle vendor payment coordination, material reconciliation, and resolution of procurement-related issues.
- Ensure adherence to company procurement policies, budgets, quality requirements, and project timelines.
- Prepare periodic procurement reports, cost analysis, and material tracking reports for management.

Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of construction materials and steel works.
- Excellent negotiation, vendor development, and cost-control skills.
- Ability to understand civil and structural drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications.
- Good knowledge of procurement processes, inventory coordination, and supply chain management.
- Strong communication, coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and purchase management software/ERP systems.
- Ability to manage multiple project requirements and meet strict deadlines.

Educational Qualification
- B.Tech in Civil Engineering is mandatory.

Experience Requirements
- Minimum 6+ years of relevant experience in purchase and procurement for construction, infrastructure, industrial, or steel structure projects.
- Experience in sourcing steel materials and coordinating with fabrication vendors and construction project teams will be preferred.

Preferred Candidate: A technically sound and commercially skilled skilled with a strong understanding of construction procurement, steel works, vendor management, and project execution requirements. Pay: Up to ₹60,000.00 per month
