B. About the Team:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Research Manager to join our National Research Team . The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of India's political and legislative landscape, with the ability to independently identify emerging research priorities and guide the team in developing high-quality research briefs and analytical notes.

The role requires strong research, writing, analytical, and editorial skills, along with the ability to interpret complex socio-economic data and translate findings into actionable recommendations for client messaging and strategy. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the team's research outputs are accurate, insightful, relevant, and aligned with evolving political developments and client requirements.

C. What Would This Role Entail?

- Proactively track and identify political, legislative, governance, and socio-economic developments that require research attention. Identify briefs and notes that need to be picked up by the team and drive them from ideation to completion.
- Draft high-quality research briefs, policy briefs, analytical notes, backgrounders, and summaries. Review briefs prepared by National Research consultants to ensure accuracy, clarity, analytical depth, factual consistency, and relevance to the intended objective.
- Stay updated on political developments, legislative proceedings,



policy announcements, government initiatives, and significant events across India. Assess their implications and identify relevant research opportunities for the team.
- Analyse raw socio-economic, demographic, governance, and public-policy data to identify meaningful trends and insights. Translate complex data into clear, evidence-based, and actionable policy and communications recommendations for the client.
- Validate information through credible sources, verify facts and figures, identify information gaps, and maintain high standards of accuracy and analytical rigour across all research outputs
- Guide National Research consultants on research questions, methodology, source selection, structure, and quality standards.
- Provide constructive feedback to improve the quality and relevance of research deliverables.
- Preempt and prioritise research assignments based on political developments, emerging issues, and project requirements. Manage multiple assignments simultaneously and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality briefs and notes.
- Willingness to travel across India as required for project needs, field research, stakeholder interactions, and other research-related assignments.
- Flexibility to work beyond standard business hours and remain available when required by urgent political developments, legislative proceedings, or time-sensitive project deliverables.
- Strong proficiency in identifying, accessing, analysing, and validating credible government and public-data sources, including Lok Sabha and other parliamentary records, RTI-based information, official government portals, ministry reports, and reputed research and statistical publications.

D. Necessary Skills: a) Education





- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Management, Technology, Political Science, Public Policy, Economics, Sociology, Law or a related discipline.

b) Experience

- 3–7 years of relevant professional experience in political research, public policy, corporate law or litigation, socio-economic research or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in drafting, editing, and reviewing research briefs, analytical notes, reports, and public policy documents.
- Experience in analysing socio-economic data and translating research findings into actionable insights.
- Familiarity and ease in dealing with quantitative data, and with formulating data analysis frameworks.
- Prior experience in establishing or guiding research teams, preferably in high-pressure environments.

c) Skills

- Strong understanding of India's political landscape, legislative developments, public policy, and governance issues.
- Strong analytical judgement and the ability to connect political developments, policy decisions, and socio-economic indicators with broader strategic implications.
- Ability to identify relevant research topics, develop structured research questions, evaluate sources, and synthesise complex information.
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to draft concise, well-structured, and insight-driven research briefs and review documents prepared by others.
- Ability to interpret socio-economic and demographic datasets, identify trends, and convert findings into practical recommendations and communications material.
- Commitment to factual accuracy, source validation, and high-quality research outputs.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, particularly Google Docs and Sheets, Excel and familiarity with data analysis and research tools.
- Proficiency in multiple regional languages is preferred
