Job Overview

MICPL is seeking a hands-on Production Engineer with expertise in Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB) and structural steel fabrication to manage day-to-day manufacturing operations at our Chakan facility. The role involves planning production, optimizing processes, coordinating with design, procurement and site teams, and ensuring timely, high-quality delivery of PEB components.

This is a core operations role suited for candidates with strong shop-floor exposure in PEB manufacturing, CNC plasma/fiber cutting, welding, blasting, painting, and dispatch planning.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and execute daily & monthly production schedules for PEB components (columns, rafters, purlins, bracings, trusses, etc.)
- Coordinate with design/engineering team to understand fabrication drawings & BOQs
- Monitor shop-floor operations: CNC plasma/fiber cutting, drilling, welding, assembly, blasting & painting
- Optimize material flow, machine utilization, manpower planning & shift planning
- Ensure production targets (Tonnage/Month) are achieved as per project timelines
- Implement and monitor quality control processes as per IS codes and project specifications
- Reduce rework, wastage, downtime and improve productivity (Lean / Kaizen mindset preferred)
- Coordinate with procurement for raw material planning (HR plates, coils, sections, bolts, paints, gases, etc.)




- Track production KPIs: output, rejection, machine utilization, cycle times
- Ensure safety compliance, PPE usage, and shop-floor discipline
- Coordinate dispatch planning with logistics and project/site teams
- Prepare production reports (daily/weekly/monthly) for management review

Required Skills & Experience
- 3–6 years of hands-on experience in PEB manufacturing / structural steel fabrication / heavy engineering fabrication
- Strong understanding of PEB components, fabrication sequences, and erection logic
- Experience with CNC Plasma, Fiber Laser (preferred), MIG/CO2 welding, blasting & painting
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings & GA drawings
- Knowledge of production planning, capacity planning, and shop-floor execution
- Familiarity with basic costing, material yield, and tonnage-based productivity metrics
- Good coordination skills to work with Design, Purchase, Stores, QA/QC, Dispatch & Site teams
- Comfortable with Excel, production trackers, and MIS reporting
- Knowledge of industrial safety practices and compliance

Preferred (Good to Have)
- Experience in a 500–1000 T/month PEB or steel fabrication facility
- Exposure to ERP / Production Planning Software
- MBA in Operations / Industrial Engineering (added advantage)
- Exposure to continuous improvement tools (Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen)
