About this role:

You will own how Refold AI's product feels to use, and build the team that keeps raising that bar. Our users configure AI agents that build and run enterprise integrations, which is powerful, technical work. Your job is to make it feel obvious.

You'll set the product design vision with the founders, stay hands-on from first sketch to shipped pixel, and grow the design function as we scale. You'll define the standard for interaction quality, the design system the product grows on, and how design works with product and engineering. If you want to define how a current category of software works, and lead the people who build it, this is that seat.

What you'll do:





- Set the product design vision and strategy with the founders, and turn it into a roadmap the team can ship against.
- Stay hands-on: own key flows end to end, from research and wireframes to prototypes and production-ready UI.
- Turn complex, technical workflows (agent setup, connector configuration, debugging, monitoring) into interfaces anyone can use.
- Hire, mentor, and grow product designers, setting the craft bar and giving clear, regular feedback.
- Define how design works here: design reviews, critique, hand-off to engineering, and quality checks before launch.
- Partner with product and engineering leads from concept to launch, shaping the roadmap rather than just receiving it.
- Build a research practice: regular user conversations, usability tests, and product metrics that guide decisions.
- Own the product design system so engineering ships consistent UI without design in the loop.
- Lead new interaction patterns for AI: how users instruct, review, and trust what agents build.
- Work with the brand designer so the product and the brand feel like one company.

What we're looking for:

- 7+ years designing B2B SaaS, developer, or data products,



including 2+ years leading designers or owning design for a product area. Experience band is flexible if the work is exceptional.
- A track record of shipped products you can walk us through, where your design decisions moved real outcomes.
- A systems thinker: you simplify complex, technical problems into clear flows, not just clean screens.
- Strong craft across interaction design, visual design, and prototyping, with deep Figma fluency. You still enjoy doing the work yourself.
- Experience hiring and mentoring designers, and building design processes and systems from scratch.
- Founding-calibre ownership: you set the bar and build from zero, without a playbook.
- Clear verbal and written communication, so you can align founders, engineers, and customers around a design direction.
- A portfolio with case studies that show your process, the trade-offs you made, the outcomes, and how you led others.

Bonus points:

- You've designed AI-native products, agent workflows, or integration and automation tools.
- You've built a design team at an early-stage startup, ideally as the first design hire.
- Front-end sensibility (HTML/CSS, React) or comfort prototyping in code.
- Motion and micro-interaction chops.
- You use AI tools to explore, prototype, and ship faster, and help your team do the same.
