About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Plant Manager – SAP & ETP to lead the secure, reliable, environmentally compliant, and cost-effective operations of the Sulphuric Acid Plant and Effluent Treatment Plant. The role will be responsible for maximizing acid production, SO₂ capture efficiency, water recovery, plant availability, and sustainability performance while driving operational excellence and process safety.

Key Responsibilities

✅ Lead end-to-end operations of the Sulphuric Acid Plant and ETP, ensuring achievement of production and treatment targets.

✅ Ensure efficient operation of:

- Gas Cleaning Plant
- Contact Section
- Acid Absorption Section
- Acid Storage & Dispatch Systems
- Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP)
- Water Recovery & Recycling Systems
- Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) Systems

✅ Drive process optimization initiatives to improve:
- Sulphur burning efficiency
- SO₂ to SO₃ conversion efficiency
- Sulphuric acid quality
- Water recovery and recycling
- Energy efficiency and utility consumption

✅ Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including:
- CPCB & GPCB requirements
- Environmental Clearance conditions
- Consent to Operate norms
- Emission monitoring and wastewater standards

✅ Champion Process Safety Management (PSM) and ensure compliance with:
- SOPs
- PTW System
- LOTO
- HIRA
- MOC
- Emergency Response Procedures

✅ Collaborate with maintenance teams on preventive, predictive, shutdown,



and turnaround maintenance activities.

✅ Drive equipment reliability, operational excellence, continuous improvement, Lean, and Six Sigma initiatives.

✅ Lead multidisciplinary teams comprising engineers, shift in-charges, operators, technicians, and contractors.

✅ Manage operating budgets, utility consumption, chemical consumption, maintenance costs, and inventory optimization.

✅ Support capacity expansion, debottlenecking, technology upgrades, and commissioning activities.

Desired Candidate Profile

- 18 - 25 years of experience in process industries.
- Strong exposure to:
- Sulphuric Acid Plant Operations
- Gas Cleaning Systems
- Environmental Systems
- ETP/Wastewater Treatment Operations
- Water Recovery & ZLD Systems
- Proven leadership experience in large-scale continuous process plants.
- Strong understanding of environmental compliance, process safety, and operational excellence frameworks.
- Experience in metals, smelting, fertilizer, chemical, refinery, or related process industries preferred.
