Position: PDF Annotation & Transcription Experts – Odiya

Type: Contract

Compensation: $10–$11/hour

Location: Remote

Role Responsibilities

- Evaluate and confirm the legibility and content of provided Odiya pages before annotation.
- Annotate structure by identifying and bounding every meaningful region, assigning component types and reading-order indices.
- Record relationships by linking regions to their parent components like figures or tables.
- Transcribe text faithfully in Odiya script, including handwritten content, and flag illegible regions.
- Capture page metadata including language, document type, and flags for tables, formulas, and handwriting.
- Review and provide feedback on a colleague's work to ensure accuracy and consistency.

Qualifications

Must-Have

- Native fluency in Odiya with full command of the script.
- Experience in annotation, transcription, translation, localization,



or proofreading.
- High attention to detail with character-level accuracy.
- Systematic approach to applying taxonomy across documents.
- Comfort with unfamiliar layouts like multi-column newspapers and handwritten forms.

Preferred

- Experience in regional-language AI data annotation or bilingual evaluation.
- Skills in transcription, localization, or OCR correction.
- Background in document production such as typesetting or proofreading.
- Knowledge of script and encoding, including Unicode normalization.
