FNN Fasteners and Engineers Pvt. Ltd. is looking for a technically sound and proactive New Product Development & Engineering Coordination Engineer to manage new product enquiries from initial technical evaluation through drawing coordination, supplier identification, sampling, PPAP documentation, customer approval, and final handover to the Customer Fulfilment team.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of engineering drawings, manufacturing processes, materials, technical documentation, and supplier coordination. We are looking for someone who can independently drive development activities, follow up with different departments, and ensure that new products move smoothly from enquiry to production readiness.

Key Responsibilities1. End-to-End New Product Development

- Manage new product enquiries from receipt through technical evaluation, sampling, customer approval, and initial production.
- Review customer drawings, specifications, dimensions, tolerances, material requirements, and surface finish requirements.
- Evaluate manufacturing feasibility, tooling requirements, process capabilities, and supplier requirements.
- Coordinate with Design, Production, Quality, Purchase, and external suppliers to ensure timely completion of development activities.
- Maintain a development tracker covering enquiry status, pending actions, sample timelines, documentation, and customer approvals.

1. Engineering Drawing Review & Design Coordination

- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Coordinate with the design team to obtain, prepare, or revise component and assembly drawings as required.
- Identify missing dimensions, unclear specifications, drawing discrepancies, and technical feasibility concerns, and ensure they are resolved.
- Coordinate drawing revisions and ensure that the latest approved drawings and specifications are available to the relevant teams.
- Independent CAD drawing creation is not a core requirement; drawing review and design coordination are essential.

1. Technical Sourcing & Supplier Development

- Identify and evaluate suitable suppliers and manufacturing partners for new product requirements.
- Coordinate technical sourcing of raw materials, tooling, components, and outsourced manufacturing or finishing processes.




- Assess supplier capabilities, manufacturing processes, sample quality, technical compliance, and development timelines.
- Obtain technical details, samples, and quotations from potential suppliers.
- Work with the Purchase team for commercial procurement and purchase order processing.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal production teams for sample manufacturing, trials, and initial production lots.

1. PPAP & Customer-Specific Technical Documentation

- Prepare PPAP submissions as per customer requirements and applicable standards.
- Take ownership of all customer-required technical reports and documentation related to product development, sampling, validation, and initial production.
- Prepare or coordinate documents such as:
- Process Flow Diagrams
- Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
- Control Plans
- Dimensional Inspection Reports
- Material Test Certificates and Material Reports
- Performance and Validation Reports
- Other customer-specific quality and technical documents
- Coordinate with Quality, Production, suppliers, and external testing agencies to obtain the required technical data and reports.
- Verify that documentation is complete, accurate, traceable, and submitted within customer timelines.
- Track missing information, documentation gaps, revisions, and pending approvals until closure.
- Maintain organised records of drawings, specifications, samples, reports, and customer approvals.

1. Sampling, Validation & Customer Approval

- Coordinate sample development, inspection, testing, and validation activities.
- Ensure that samples and initial production lots meet customer drawings and specifications.
- Track customer feedback, sample rejection reasons, required modifications, and resubmissions.
- Coordinate corrective actions and ensure that technical issues are resolved before approval.
- Follow up until customer approval and all required documentation are completed.

1. Handover to Customer Fulfilment

- Ensure a structured handover of approved products to the Customer Fulfilment team.
- Share approved drawings, specifications,



costing inputs, supplier details, process requirements, customer approvals, and quality documentation.
- Ensure that the fulfilment team has the information required to process repeat orders without depending on the NPD team for routine technical clarifications.
- Support initial production stabilisation and resolve development-related issues during the transition to regular production.

Candidate Requirements
- 3–6 years of relevant experience in New Product Development, Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Customer Engineering.
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering.
- Good understanding of engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Practical experience with PPAP preparation and customer-specific technical documentation.
- Experience in supplier identification, technical sourcing, sample development, and manufacturing coordination.
- Strong follow-up, planning, problem-solving, and cross-functional coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple development projects and drive pending actions to closure.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and documentation management.

Experience in fasteners, precision components, automotive components, or electrical components manufacturing will be preferred. What Success Looks Like in This Role

- New product enquiries are evaluated and tracked systematically.
- Suitable suppliers and manufacturing processes are identified on time.
- Samples and initial production lots are developed within agreed timelines.
- PPAP submissions and customer-required technical reports are accurate and submitted on time.
- Customer approvals are tracked through to closure.
- New products are handed over to Customer Fulfilment with complete technical and quality documentation.

Important Role Clarification This is a hands-on engineering coordination and new product development role. The candidate will be responsible for technical evaluation, supplier identification, development coordination, PPAP preparation, customer documentation, and follow-through.

Commercial procurement and purchase order processing will be handled by the Purchase team. Creating CAD drawings independently is not a mandatory requirement.
