Role Description This is a full time, on-site role based in Mumbai for the maintenance and repair of shipping line containers at CEEKAY SHIPPING – LINE. The role involves performing routine inspections of containers to identify structural damage, corrosion, and wear, and carrying out mechanical, welding, and minor fabrication repairs to ensure containers meet safety and operational standards. The individual will be responsible for preventive maintenance activities, replacing or repairing components such as doors, seals, locks, flooring, and fittings, and ensuring proper functioning of specialized equipment including reefer and open-top containers.





Daily tasks include documenting work performed, maintaining accurate service records, coordinating with operations and yard teams for container movements, and prioritizing repair schedules to support customer commitments. The role also requires adherence to health, safety, and environmental guidelines within the depot or yard and active contribution to continuous improvement of maintenance procedures.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated Maintenance & Repair skills, including mechanical work on containers, basic welding, and use of hand and power tools.
- Ability to perform effective Troubleshooting to diagnose structural, mechanical, and equipment issues in standard and specialized containers.
- Robust focus on Customer Satisfaction through timely, reliable repairs and alignment with service quality standards.
- Clear and professional Communication skills for coordinating with yard teams, supervisors, and operations staff.
- Experience in container, equipment, or Appliance Repair, preferably within shipping, logistics, or industrial environments.
- Knowledge of safety standards, PPE usage, and safe working practices in depots, yards, or industrial sites.
- Basic understanding of reefer container systems and special equipment handling is an advantage.
- Relevant technical qualification or vocational training in mechanical, fabrication, or industrial maintenance is preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in Mumbai, perform physically demanding tasks, and manage work in outdoor and yard conditions
