Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Linux Support Engineer with 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in Linux administration and working knowledge of Python scripting. The candidate will be responsible for Linux server monitoring, troubleshooting, system administration and automation of routine operational tasks.

The role involves supporting IT infrastructure, ensuring system availability, resolving technical incidents and collaborating with relevant teams to maintain smooth operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Administer and maintain Linux servers and operating systems.
- Monitor server health, CPU, memory, disk utilization and system performance.
- Troubleshoot Linux-related issues and perform root-cause analysis.
- Manage users, groups, file permissions, processes and system services.
- Analyze system logs and investigate application or infrastructure issues.
- Develop and maintain Python scripts to automate routine tasks and system checks.
- Perform shell scripting and automate repetitive administrative activities.
- Support incident management, problem management and change management processes.
- Coordinate with application, network, database and infrastructure teams to resolve issues.




- Maintain technical documentation and follow established operational procedures.
- Ensure compliance with applicable security policies and service-level agreements.

Required Technical Skills

- Robust knowledge of Linux administration, preferably RHEL/CentOS or similar distributions.
- Hands-on experience with Linux commands, process management, file systems, permissions and service management.
- Knowledge of system monitoring, log analysis and performance troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of Python scripting for automation and operational support.
- Knowledge of Bash or shell scripting.
- Understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, SSH and ports.
- Familiarity with production support, incident management and troubleshooting procedures.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools and ticketing systems is desirable.

Experience and Qualifications

- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in Linux administration, Linux support or infrastructure/production support.
- Practical experience troubleshooting Linux server issues.
- Ability to write and understand basic Python scripts.
- Good analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with technical teams.

Preferred Skills

- Experience in enterprise or mission-critical production environments.
- Knowledge of automation tools such as Ansible.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and incident management.
- Exposure to performance monitoring and infrastructure management tools.
