Technical Skills Required:

1. MySQL 5.7 / 8.x administration: installation, upgrades, patching, Replication (GTID), Group Replication, InnoDB Cluster, MHA / ProxySQL, binary log management, partitioning, index management and security.
2. PostgreSQL administration: streaming replication, WAL management and archiving, replication slots, autovacuum, partitioning, user & role management and HA concepts (e.g. Patroni / repmgr).
3. Backup & recovery: full, incremental, differential and binlog / WAL-based point-in-time recovery (e.g.

Percona

XtraBackup, mysqldump, pg_basebackup, pgBackRest) – with regular restore testing, not only backups.

4. Performance tuning: slow-query analysis, execution plans (EXPLAIN / EXPLAIN ANALYZE), indexing strategy, locking / blocking / deadlock resolution,



configuration tuning, storage optimisation and capacity planning.
5. Scripting & automation: advanced SQL, Shell scripting, Python (preferred), PowerShell (positive to have).
6. Monitoring: hands-on with any of PMM, Grafana, Zabbix, Nagios or cloud monitoring tools – alerts for replication, backups, disk growth and slow queries.
7. Platforms: Linux (primary) and Windows server environments.
8. Good to have: MSSQL administration (Always On AG, backup & recovery, tuning), cloud databases (AWS / Azure / GCP), Docker / Kubernetes deployments, DevOps & CI/CD integration.
