Role Description The Lead Data Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Chennai. The person in this role will design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures in ICEBERG and REDSHIFT for IFRS 117 Project. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements, implementing robust ETL processes, optimizing data models and data warehouses, and ensuring data quality and reliability.

Engineer will also guide junior team members, contribute to data governance practices, and support advanced data analytics initiatives to improve decision-making across the organization.

Qualifications

- Strong data engineering skills,



including experience with modern data platforms, pipeline orchestration, and distributed data processing.
- Proficiency in data modeling and data warehousing, with the ability to design productive, scalable, and well-documented data structures.
- Hands-on experience with Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes and tools, including building, monitoring, and optimizing batch and real-time data flows. Working in AWS EMR serverless environment would be a big plus
- Experience in data analytics, including working with analytical tools or languages to support reporting and insight generation.
- Solid programming skills (e.g., SQL, Python, or similar) and familiarity with cloud data services and relational/non-relational databases.
- Understanding of data governance, data security, and best practices for handling sensitive information.
- Ability to lead technical projects, mentor team members, and collaborate effectively with business and technology stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Knowledge of IFRS implementation would be a big plus
