Key ResponsibilitiesA.

Hitachi Storage

Administration

- Administer and support Hitachi enterprise storage systems, including VSP series and other deployed Hitachi storage platforms.
- Perform routine storage health checks and monitor array status, hardware components, controllers, disks, cache and ports.
- Monitor storage capacity, pool utilization, LUN allocation and overall array performance.
- Perform storage provisioning activities, including:
- LUN/volume creation and allocation.
- Host group and logical unit path configuration.
- Storage mapping and masking.
- Volume expansion and capacity allocation.
- Storage reclamation and decommissioning as per approved procedures.
- Perform configuration changes in accordance with approved change-management processes.
- Monitor and investigate storage alerts, hardware faults and component failures.




- Coordinate with Hitachi OEM support for hardware replacement, firmware issues and complex technical incidents.

Mandatory Technical Skills
- Hands-on experience with Hitachi Vantara enterprise storage systems.
- Knowledge of Hitachi VSP architecture and storage management interfaces such as Hitachi Ops Center and applicable management tools.
- Robust understanding of SAN, Fibre Channel, WWPN, LUN, host groups, zoning and LUN masking.
- Knowledge of RAID, storage pools, thin provisioning, snapshots and volume management.
- Experience with storage provisioning and host connectivity troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of multipathing technologies such as native Windows/Linux MPIO and VMware multipathing, as applicable.
- Understanding of Windows/Linux server storage connectivity.
- Basic knowledge of VMware vSphere storage integration.
- Understanding of storage performance metrics, capacity planning and incident management.
- Experience with ITSM tools and change-management processes.
