Role Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Junior Mechanical R&D; Engineer – Product Design with at least 1 year of relevant professional experience in mechanical design, product development, machine design, or mechanical R&D.;

The candidate will work on 3D CAD modeling, mechanical assemblies, manufacturing drawings, prototype development, design validation, and design-for-manufacturing activities. The role involves close collaboration with the electronics, firmware, and R&D; teams to develop mechanical components and assemblies for motors, motor controllers, cordless power tools, and related electromechanical products.

Candidates with only academic projects, college projects, or training experience will not meet the minimum professional experience requirement.

Key Responsibilities1. Mechanical Design & 3D CAD Modeling

- Develop detailed 3D parametric models of mechanical components, parts, and assemblies.
- Design housings, enclosures, brackets, mounting structures, shafts, gears, fixtures, and other mechanical components.
- Create and modify complex assemblies while considering fit, function, clearances, and serviceability.
- Use CAD tools such as SolidWorks, PTC Creo, CATIA, or equivalent software.
- Revise designs based on engineering feedback, testing results, and manufacturing requirements.

1. Engineering Drawings & Documentation

- Prepare production-ready 2D engineering drawings with dimensions, tolerances, and material specifications.
- Generate assembly drawings, exploded views, and bills of materials (BOMs).
- Apply GD&T; principles and tolerance stack-up analysis where required.
- Maintain drawing revisions, engineering change records, and design documentation.
- Coordinate with manufacturing teams to resolve drawing-related issues.

1. Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFM/DFA)

- Design components suitable for manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, sheet-metal fabrication, injection molding, and die casting.
- Evaluate manufacturability, assembly feasibility, material selection, and production cost.
- Identify potential design issues before prototype development or production.
- Incorporate feedback from vendors, machine shops, and manufacturing teams.
- Support component standardization and optimization of mechanical assemblies.

1. Prototype Development & Testing

- Support the fabrication, assembly,



and validation of mechanical prototypes.
- Coordinate with machine shops, fabrication vendors, and manufacturing teams for prototype development.
- Perform fitment checks, dimensional inspections, and assembly validation.
- Assist with mechanical testing, including vibration, thermal, structural, and durability evaluation as applicable.
- Troubleshoot mechanical failures and implement corrective design changes.

1. Electromechanical Product R&D;

- Develop mechanical components and enclosures for electric motors, motor controllers, actuators, and cordless power tools.
- Work with electronics and firmware engineers to integrate PCBs, connectors, sensors, wiring, cooling arrangements, and mounting features.
- Support thermal management, ventilation, mechanical protection, and serviceability requirements.
- Contribute to design reviews, prototype iterations, and product improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- B.Tech/B.E. or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Machine Design, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 1 year of professional experience in mechanical design, product design, machine design, or mechanical R&D.;
- Strong working knowledge of 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, PTC Creo, CATIA, or equivalent.
- Practical experience creating 2D manufacturing drawings and detailed 3D models.
- Understanding of GD&T;, dimensional tolerances, fits, and clearances.
- Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and design-for-manufacturing principles.
- Experience working with mechanical assemblies, sheet-metal parts, machined components, or fabricated structures.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, troubleshoot design issues, and incorporate technical feedback.
- Good documentation, problem-solving, and cross-functional coordination skills.

Preferred Skills
- Experience designing enclosures, housings, gears, shafts, fixtures, or mechanical parts for electromechanical products.
- Exposure to electric motors, gearboxes, actuators, motor controllers,



or power tools.
- Familiarity with injection molding, die casting, CNC machining, sheet-metal fabrication, and 3D printing.
- Experience with prototype assembly, testing, and design validation.
- Knowledge of basic structural, thermal, or vibration analysis.
- Familiarity with engineering change management, BOM preparation, and revision control.

Experience Criteria Candidates must have at least 1 year of relevant skilled work experience in a mechanical design or product development role.

Experience should involve actual industry work such as CAD modeling, production drawings, mechanical assemblies, manufacturing support, prototype development, or product R&D.; Academic projects and internships may supplement professional experience but will not independently satisfy the minimum requirement.

- Work from office at Aishbagh, Lucknow.
- Candidates must be willing to work from the specified location.
- Immediate joiners or candidates with a short notice period are preferred.

Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a practical mechanical design engineer who can independently develop CAD models, prepare manufacturing drawings, understand production constraints, and contribute to prototype development. Candidates with hands-on product design experience and exposure to electromechanical systems will be preferred. Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
