Job Profile: Senior Software Engineer

Location: Chennai, India

Preferred experience: - 5.1-7 years The Role:

The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting existing and new Credit Risk applications using Java and J2EE technologies. The role involves hands-on backend development, REST API implementation, database design, technical solutioning, testing, performance optimization, and application support. The candidate will collaborate with Business Analysts, Solution Architects, and cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality solutions within an Agile environment.

Responsibilities:

· Develop and enhance Credit Risk applications using Java, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and related technologies.

· Design and develop backend services, batch processes, database components, and application integrations.

· Work with Business Analysts and Solution Architects to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

· Develop and maintain REST APIs, perform database design,



and write optimized SQL queries.

· Conduct unit and integration testing and support performance and endurance testing.

· Prepare and review technical specifications, code, and technical deliverables.

· Identify opportunities for technical improvements and recommend appropriate solutions.

· Support application deployments and implementation activities in coordination with integration teams.

· Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to strategic technology projects.

· Provide technical guidance to team members and assist in onboarding and training new employees.

· Follow established security, quality, reporting, and compliance standards.

Must - Have Qualifications:

· Solid experience in Core Java 8+, including Collections Framework, Multithreading and Concurrency, Streams API, Lambda Expressions, File I/O, and Network I/O.

· Hands-on experience with Spring Framework, including Spring Core, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Batch, Spring Integration, and Spring Web.

· Experience in REST API development and integration, including HTTP methods, error handling, and Swagger/OpenAPI specifications.

· Proficiency in Oracle SQL, database operations, query development, and writing efficient SQL queries.





· Experience with Maven for dependency management, project builds, and application packaging.

· Hands-on experience with Log4j, Logback, and SLF4J for application logging, debugging, and troubleshooting.

· Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies, SDLC, coding standards, and software development best practices.

· Understanding of performance tuning, memory management, clustering, high availability, and load balancing.

· Knowledge of security concepts, including SSL/TLS, digital signatures, public/private key encryption, and application security.

· Exposure to additional databases, including MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL.

· Experience with AI-augmented development tools to improve coding productivity, debugging, testing, and code quality.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Knowledge of Apache Kafka, Apache Tomcat, and Apache HTTP Server (HTTPD).

· Exposure to frontend technologies, including Angular, JSP, JavaScript, HTML5, jQuery, AJAX, XML, and JSON.

· Knowledge of application monitoring and profiling tools, including Spring Actuator, JMX, JConsole, and JProfiler.

· Experience with Docker and Kubernetes for application containerization and orchestration.

· Knowledge of Jenkins, Serena, and CI/CD practices for build automation, continuous integration, and deployment.

· Experience with testing frameworks and tools, including JUnit, Mockito, EasyMock, WireMock, Postman, and JMeter, for unit testing, API testing, and performance testing.
