Role Description The Investment Partner role is an on-site position based in Sonbhadra, focused on supporting investment decisions in rural and development-focused initiatives. This role involves sourcing and evaluating potential investment opportunities, conducting detailed financial and impact analyses, and preparing investment proposals aligned with TransRural’s research and evaluation work.

Partner will collaborate with internal research teams and external stakeholders to perform due diligence, assess risks and returns, and ensure that investments support sustainable socio-economic outcomes. Day-to-day responsibilities include building and maintaining financial models, monitoring portfolio performance, contributing to investment strategy, and presenting findings and recommendations to leadership and partner organizations.

Qualifications

- Strong Finance and Investments skills, with the ability to assess viability, risk, and expected returns of projects.
- Advanced Financial Modeling and Analytical Skills for building scenarios, projections, and impact evaluations.
- Proficiency in Due Diligence, including qualitative and quantitative assessment of partners, projects, and compliance.
- Experience or interest in rural development, public policy, or development finance is highly beneficial.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Public Policy, or a related field.
- Ability to work on-site in Sonbhadra, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and engage with government and development sector stakeholders.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with capacity to translate complex analysis into explicit recommendations.
- Comfort with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, statistical or financial software) and a detail-oriented working style.
