- The Neonatology Consultant provides specialized medical care for newborns, particularly those who are premature, ill, or require intensive care. This role involves diagnosing and treating a range of neonatal conditions, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and guiding medical staff in providing high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and treat neonates in the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) and other care settings.
- Work with pediatricians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans.
- Provide expert consultations for complex cases,
including intrauterine infections, congenital anomalies, and respiratory distress.
- Mentor and educate residents, medical students, and nursing staff on best practices in neonatal care.
- Participate in clinical research initiatives and quality improvement projects to advance neonatal care.
- Communicate effectively with families about their infant s condition, treatment options, and care processes.
Desired Candidate Profile
MBBS, MD / DNB / Fellowship
- Must have at least 3-5 years of relevant experience (post PG) in a consultancy role.
