Job Purpose To lead and coordinate product design, development, and engineering activities for plastic components, ensuring product quality, manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and timely execution from concept to production.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Design & Development

- Develop and design plastic components and products as per customer requirements and specifications.
- Handle recent product development (NPD) projects from concept development to final production.
- Prepare and review 2D drawings, 3D models, and product specifications.
- Ensure designs meet functional, dimensional, aesthetic, and quality requirements.

2. CAD Design & Engineering

- Work on 3D modelling and 2D drawings using CAD software such as UG/NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, or AutoCAD.
- Understand plastic component design principles, including wall thickness, draft angles, ribs, bosses,



and shrinkage.
- Coordinate design reviews, engineering changes, and drawing approvals.

3. Tooling & Mould Development

- Coordinate with tool-room, mould manufacturers, and production teams for mould development and modifications.
- Review mould designs and ensure compatibility with injection moulding processes.
- Support mould trials, sample validation, and troubleshooting of design-related issues.

4. Prototype & Validation

- Coordinate prototype development and product testing.
- Conduct design feasibility reviews, tolerance analysis, and dimensional validation.
- Support trial runs and implement corrective actions based on testing and customer feedback.

5. Cross-Functional Coordination

- Work closely with Production, Quality, Tool Room, Purchase, Sales, and customer teams.
- Coordinate with customers to understand technical requirements and resolve design-related queries.
- Ensure timely completion of development projects and engineering changes.
